I want to top my plant and then be able to clone the tip. My sweet cheese is finishing week 6 (but had no sun for 2 weeks, so it's a bit delayed), when would it be best to top her and get a decent clone?
I want to get as many clones as possible because it's very hard to find good seeds where I live. Right now it's the beggining of summer, I plan on giving her another 2 months in veg and supplement the light if necessary.
Either way I'm waiting a few more weeks, she's been getting sun again for about 10 days. Would LST provide the best design for clonable branches?
All depends what you’re plan is. If it’s almost natural time to flower than you are only gonna have one good shot at it and that’s tough if you’ve never clones before.
If you’re going to be rooting the clone outside, it’s not gonna give you much time.. but it’s worth a try. This is assuming you’re in a place that 12/12 light will be starting soon.
I like to have a node or two on the clone I am rooting that are clipped off because often times the hormones around those growth areas help root best.. I usually find that the spot at the node is the place where the root formations begin.
If you’re trying to clone and flower all within the next couple weeks it’s gonna be tight.
Do you know when your natural flowering cycle begins outdoors where you’re at?
I ment nods. Levels of branches. Count 4 - 5 healthy side shoots up and top at that place, leave a small hill, like 1-2 cm length above toped level/nod.
