I personally do not.. not a 48 hour one.. if I am ready to harvest one, I鈥檒l make sure it has a dark period before harvest but just it鈥檚 natural dark cycle.. So I never cut down during lights on. If I can manage it, I鈥檒l cut right before lights on but that鈥檚 usually early morning so I鈥檒l Often just take the plant the night before and put it in darkness for 12ish hours and chop after the 12 hour dark period. I just have yet to see any definitive data showing any point in the 48 hour dark period.

If you have control of humidity and have no time to chop them - go for, but ... In those 24 or 48 hours with daylight girls would bring out more trichomes production. There was one study like 2 years ago, no accountable THC or Terps increase, first difference they got at 72 hours only, but it was minimal to be applied as technique. I was using it for a bit, once brought bud rot in those dark and humid days, so started to read and value more .. Not worth it in my mind. All the Best !

I do darkness. I treat them the same as others. It's the final stressor, plus starts to letch chlorophyll out of plant. Would only do 48 hours though. Good luck and enjoy. Remember moving air 馃憤

@kirbyman68 48 hours is probably overkill I think anywhere between 12 and 24 hours of darkness before the chop will suffice in reducing the amount of chlorophyl and hopefully help improve THC I say hopefully because it is pretty much unproven science

I like to put any plant in darkness before the chop to build up the terpenes. I don't know how much it really affects thc or any of that but the evidence of terpenes is there. Still a personal choice. If you mess up the dry or cure it won't matter if you helped preserve the terpenes they will all be lost anyway. Good Luck!
