To flush or not to flush?

Noahbear

I have read so much about flushing- so I am reaching out to the experience growers here. Should I flush? How to flush? And whatever tips you recommend. My local hydroponic store owner (who is always cranky)- say's it's a waste of time.

Depends on how you're growing @Noahbear If you use organic nutrients you probably don't need flush. Just feed her water the last few times and you're done. If you using organo-mineral or mineral nutrients you should flush. You can flush by watering with pH 8 water for example as the plant won't be able to absorve the nutes and they'll drop with the water. (pH 8 water is obtained by adding some alcaline substance to the water like pH+ products) If you using 100% coco or any inert medium it's easier to flush as the coco is way easier to clean and cannabis in coco are grown with runoff on every watering. If you want more pointers we can always chat ;)

Rule of thumb is basically... If you use synthetic Nutes you HAVE to flush if you use Organic ones you can if you want. 👍

there is a lot of blind taste test lately showing with flushed and unflushed batch of weed that smokers could even prefer unflushed weed. so the whole flush thing is now proven to be moslty a myth. only thing is for years people were told to flush their weed and been happy with the results. so flushing could save on your nutrient bill without impacting noticeably your weed potency and taste. i personally flush my plant for two week.
