There is no need to drown the bejeezus out of your plant (24-36litres!!), the idea is to get your plant to consume any residual nutrients and without adding any new nutrients.
Therefore, all you have to do is to water as normal, in normal amounts for the last 7-14 days (10 is ideal). This way your plant will "clean" itself of all residual nutrient salts in its system and this is the entire goal of "flushing". It is not an exercise in drowning, this just leads to hyper moisture in the buds come harvest time, leading to possible problems when drying, most notably, bud rot.
Flushing could also be renamed "nutrient witholding period" as this is all that is required, it is not an exercise in flooding the life out of everything.
