What a lovely plant she is! I Love tangerine dream!! I see your concerns with the height. I am pretty sure stretch is done. Peeling the top of your tent sure reduce light intensity and this will not help with airy buds. But really dense buds needs to part of the genetic. If it's not part of the genetic, their is nothing much you can do, even with a perfect setup.
If you don't want airy buds, with an auto of this size you could afford selective pruning and defoliation. Look at your second pic. See the third part of the plant is mostly in the shadow? This is what you want to avoid. Removing thin spindly shoots that grow from the low part of the plants, removing fan leaves that points to the inside, will help.
If it was my plant, I would move the light all the way to the right, and lower down the right size of the lamp as well, so she receives light at about 10-15 degree angle. This would allow to zip back the top =) Or to keep the light as it is, but low enough to zip back the top, and monster crop them all.
