Distance between light and plants, first weeks

i use a 250 w hps both for veg and flo, i start seedling with hps at 70cm let the plants grow the first weeks until the lamp is 40 30cm from plants top's then i start moving the lamp upward as the plants grow. with your 125w cfl the first two weeks 40 50 cm seem a good distance to start with
