Brawneanswered grow question 3 years ago You will want to measure at the canopy of your plant (i.e. the top of your plant). If you don't mind having a sensor hanging from the ceiling down to the middle, that is the best place to measure though. But I keep it attached to the frame on the side.
A tip though: make a hole in the bottom of a white paper cup and pull your temperature sensor through (that is, if you have a temperature reader with a sensor on a cable). Then hang it upside down at canopy height. This way you measure the "right" air temperature and you avoid your reading is distorted by the thermal radiation of your grow light.
In my case, the difference is up to 3 to 4 degrees Celsius which is significant.
