First of all= why? Why would you? If you do anything in the grow room, there should be a reason for it. Im guessing you have one, but let me stop you right there. No. No you cant. Plants need rest cycles and growing cycles that mimic natural sunlight. Thats what the plants evolved over millions of years to grow under. Yes we can "hack" mother nature and produce growing conditions never seen outside in nature- think DWC and hydroponics. Cannabis needs more air in the roots than most plants yet we figured out how to grow it in fricken water !! But the one thing you cant hack is the light cycle, plants need rest after each growing period. But if this grow period runs too long, the plant will get stressed and start to do weird things. It screws with the natural hormones in the plant if you run the grow cycle too long. Im sure there is some limit to the grow cycle where in theory you could run 24 hrs on and 7 off, or 22 on and 4.5 off, and just cycle it in a weird never ending series of timer resets... but no one has ever done the research to try and "dial it in" and figure out what the genetic limits of a cannabis plant is. If you increase the grow cycle to over 24 hrs then there must be a corresponding minimum rest cycle amount of time that also needs to be figured out. what I mean is if we know a plant can go 18 hrs grow and 6 hrs rest and be happy, then in theory if you grow 24 hrs straight then the plant SHOULD need 8 hrs of rest before the next grow cycle. So at 36hrs on you would need something like 12 hrs of rest before the next cycle, and that would induce flowering. Now as far as I know , no one has looked into this as its not worth the extra effort=it wont produce more buds or better buds or buds any faster...maybe a touch faster but your going to lose quality so again its just not worth it. I know u asked a simple question- but the more you know right?

I just made a mistake once and overslept thats kinda how it happened and they seem to be loving life. I liked the idea of 24 hours on, but figured they would need rest. so 36-8

Nothing on planet Earth evolved with a 44 hour day so my guess is that you will not see a benefit. But, give it a try and let us know the results. You will need a non-standard timer or a programmable controller to handle the non-standard day length though you might find it easier if you work from a 48 hour day.

I haven't heard of anyone doing it until now. It's against nature. But I would be interested in the result. Technically, it's more challenging to implement. Normal timers have a 24-hour cycle. You don't have electricity savings with 36-8 either. Oh yes, why 36-8 ?? Only makes 44 hours... strange idea, but I like it 👍

No, 18/6 is the most effective, efficient and healthiest schedule. Greed will give you demented plants. All plants need sleep every day to have a correctly functioning metabolism. A plant with an incorrectly functioning metabolism will never produce healthy cannabinoids.

I would not. It messing with nature's cycle. Would do 20/4 at most. They need rest daily for a more healthier plant.
