How much water should I give my seedlings?

How much water should I be giving my seedlings? I don't want to drown them, but my fan is blowing on them, and they are in direct sunlight for around 10 hours a day. Elevation is around 8000', if that effects anything! Thank you for any advice in advance, I appreciate you all!

There's too many factors to give an exact amount, however I do tend to drench the whole pot and let the roots find their way to the bottom on my first watering, allowing the plant to dry up and the roots will search down for the water over the next 5 days, though it may be different for you given that you aren't using a grow light. The water will dry at the top and 2 inches down within 3-4 days give or take 1-2 depending on many factors such as lighting, air circulation, temperature ect. Make sure you're pH is on point 5.5-6.5 when you water and good to check after adding fertilizer as well, some fertilizers will alter pH levels enough to cause harm, but you only need to check this once, Unless you change the serving per gallon, then I would check again to make sure that fertilizer doesn't impact it too much. After the first leaves appear, the plant needs fertilizer, Nitrogen - 4 Phosphorus - 3 K(Potassium) - 3 Is what I use, some like to use more and others use less. Try to keep it organic or as close as you can and for the love of god, please do not use Miracle Grow! Good Luck and happy growing!

small amounts, only water when top bit of soil is dry and don't over water. Its hard to fully elaborate it till you just do it. I use a mini spout for filling a iron and I will water one cap of that till the soil drys. I also make my seedling mix very airy to help prevent any compacting and overwatering issues. Good Luck!

They only need very little as they are very little 😁. Only water a circle around the stem and try to keep the corners dry until they start getting there second set of "true" leaves. This will ensure oxygen can get to the roots at all times. When you do saturate the whole pot you want to let it dry to around 1" deep before watering again. Happy Growing

As much as they need.. What I mean by that is water them when they dry up. A million and 1 factors can change how much and how often you need to do it. Let the soil dry out, then give it some more. You do not want to over saturate the soil at this point, they are too small and will drown and get root rot before the soil can dry out. Personally I would likely give about a shot glass of water, then let it go until the soil feels dry (judged by lifting and seeing what the weight feels like) and repeat that process until it starts drying out quickly. Then increase the amount of water I give. On the other side if I gave a shot glass of water and it took a few days to dry out I would reduce the water amount next tjme. I try to aim for watering every second day. Good luck!

Of in soil you need wet and dry times. So watering one half one day the other half the next might be beneficial when they are smaller so you cycle wet and dry times in roots. But plant always has a spot to get moisture from then. You do not need to water om base of plant. Tips of roots do work so water away from base where roots are can be more effective as well. At seedling stage being outside it depends on how warm it is, and how fast they are drying out. So honestly the amount is hard to say exactly. Environment factors change a lot.

15 squirts from a spray bottle. It's just to maintain a moist soil condition. The top can be dry in those containers you wanna keep the soil moist only to let the roots do there thing. since your in the sun like that. I recommend rice hulls for a mulch layer! There small enough to let you seedling not get choked out! I hope this helps!
