Only water around the base but don't get a 1-2" circle around the base of the plant wet for the first few weeks. So your basically making a doughnut. Another thing that will help prevent it is to sprinkle cinnamon across the soil as it has a natural anti fungal property. Damping off is caused by fungus infection. What you can do to try to save a plant that has damped off. 1. spray the infected base with hydrogen peroxide 3%. don't move the plant, just spray or add a few drops on the damped location. 2. Carefully lift plant to upright position and support by adding 1-2" of your medium( so the damping section is now 1-2" below the surface ) 3. Add 5ml of hydrogen peroxide 5% to the new base location. Do this right away and then once a day for 5 days.

4 of my seedlings just damped off recently. Maybe because I cover it with some plastic to sustain its humidity. Hard lesson for me though they would be my last seedlings and two of my plants now doesnt grow well. Thanks to yall for responding.

This is "damping off" and there is a zero chance of this seedling recovering. It can be caused by growing seedlings in "humidity domes" or in other closed environments with little or no air circulation. Keep this in mind when trying to grow seedlings next time. Cannabis does not need extra humidity to grow, this is an outdated myth from the 1960s when no one knew anything much about growing cannabis and thought cannabis cannabis came from tropical jungles, which it certainly does not. Cannabis needs good air exchange and good air circulation to grow properly, two things that do not happen inside "humidity domes". Only cuttings/clones need extra high humidity while waiting for new roots to grow. Hope this helps, Organoman.

Hey !
