How can I recover from nutrient lock and bad pH soil. I never pH my water and found out that my runoff is now pH 7.5. I am not able to lower my soil pH.

What else can I do to recover from bad pH watering habit and nutrient lock for my two months old photoperiod. Already flushed the plant, has been about 7 days and it still doesn't seem to look promising. 7 days since flushing I watered with compose tea (700ppm / pH 6.0) once.
Solved
Leaves. Curl down
Leaves. Color - Pale
Plant. Wilting

After two weeks of flushing... things are looking better. Not 100% but these two photoperiod mother plants are surviving and back to vegetation slowly. Recovery Summary (may not be a proper way, but this is what happened); 1. Flushed with pH 5.5 until runoff water is light/clear and low 300 ppm (3 hours of 80 liters of water for the two plants), the last flush ends with water mixed with mycorrhiza. 2. Back in the tent. Let the soil dry, then boost with compose tea (700 ppm pH 6.0) two days later. 3. Sprinkle a bit of espresso grounds and water with pH 6.0-6.5 to lower soil acidity. Run off pH is 7.5, and 700 ppm. 4. Slight nutrient boost from Fox Farm Big Grow + Big Bloom (400 ppm pH 6.0) 5. Regular watering with pH 6.0-6.5. 6. Boost with mycorrhiza and molasses 1ml/L (650 ppm pH 5.5). Run off pH is 7.5, 1,000 ppm. 7. Back to vegetation. Lesson learned: Always pH water! 😅 Unanswered Questions: Why is my runoff and soil slurry are still showing pH 7.5 - 7.8. 😱 Thank you all for supports and recommendations. My April 2022 has not been a cheerful period. Hope things continue to look better in May. 🙏

@123Grow - Are you suggesting that I change the soil media completely or just move into a new bigger pot with additional new soil? @MarryJuan - I added 4 tablespoon full of coffee grounds and mixed them into to the top soil of my 7 gallon airpot. It has been about 4 days. My soil runoff stay a solid pH 7.5, no change. Thank you for all comments. I truly appreciate this warm community of Growdiaries. It has been 11 days since flushing and not seeing any changes. The plants starting to show potassium/phosphorous deficiency so yesterday I added about 25% of For Farm's Grow Big and Big Bloom (400 ppm / pH 6.3) So frustrating that whatever I have done so far is not showing any sign of improvement.

Easy Fix, but will take some work. Start with good soil. I use ocean forest on my older plants. Root pruning is the answer as the plant is old enough to withstand that cutting. Take the new root square and place inside container to house the 9x9 cube using Ocean Forest soil. Do not add nutrients, do not do anything except 8 oz of pH balanced water for 3 days. Then add 25% nutrients at day 4. The Ocean Forest will correct your pH level.

Possibly nitrogen toxicity, too. But the remedy is still flushing, correct? I wonder why my pH doesn't lower at all even after so much pH 5.5 water has past through the media.

So days have past and everything still remain the same. Do you think I need to transplant into a bigger pot with new soil added? Do I need to do another flushing? How low of ppm do I need to acheive? I opened my airpot today and see that the roots are still white and looking OK. Cannot decide what I should do...

Your problem is not pH, but nitrogen toxicity.

Best thing to do is flush and keep flushing till you get an accurate ph of 6.0 6.5 if your growing in soil . Then let her rest and dry and start feeding her minimum nutrients ¼ of doses asked in the labels. Best of luck 👍

How are you doing your flushes? You need to give your plants 3x the amount of water as your pot size so if you're growing, say, in a 5 gallon pot, you need to "flush" with 15 gallons of pH'd water... if you use PH Down, get each gallon of the water between 6.0 and 6.5 and this WILL work. If you want to do things organically, there are recipes out there for using lemons or apple cider vinegar but I don't know those offhand because I don't, sadly, work organically. Anyway, mid-way through your flush, check your runoff... you should see the number going down - and then check it again at the end. Always pH your water/feed! A pH imbalance leads to most problems growing weed... Good luck!

My plants are photoperiod (Exotic Genetic Orangutan Titiez and Tarts), it is about 60 days old, indoor, and they are in a 7 gallons air-pot in 24 degree Celsius with fan ventilation. I have a bad habit of not pH my water, how I am learning the consequence of nutrient lock and the plants not growing well as it should be (short and stout). Now I am trying to bring the soil pH back down but it doesn't seem possible even after 30 litres of pH5.5 flushing. Today the soil is still pH 7.5. Shall I just wait and be patience and them slowly recover, or do I need to change soil and move to a 10 gallon air-pot?
