Floodlight for bloom supplement

SleepWithTheLightsOn
SleepWithTheLightsOnstarted grow question 2 years ago
I have read that my vipar is not the very best for bloom. I want to encourage and support the flowering with my philips 50w 4000k floodlight, what do you think, will this make a worthy difference? (Until I get a new all arounder light)

It is not a great solution (a quality grow light would be my first choice) but it could work. It probably would help using as is. The color temperature is in the range for flower. I might consider removing the light from it's housing and running a bare emitter for maximum efficiency since the glass absorbs part of the spectrum. Out of the housing might also cast light over a broader area so you can hang the light closer to your plants. --- I know throwing money is always best but I saw a noticeable improvement when I stopped using burple lights and got quality, white LED grow lights. As a side benefit it became much easier to monitor plant health under white light.

I very much doubt that will do a job. Also what kind of price is that light. Your light your using is the old blurple kind. That should still get you a decent harvest. I would carry on with what you have and invest after the grow. Viparspectra do some decent lights for a good price. Look at there P range and xs range

hey there Sleep, average intensity and average spectrum is what counts here, so adding a light will always help especially if it makes the spectrum more white than purple. Remember : the sun is not purple. So more light will be a good thing at that spectrum. Hope this helps ! 🚀
