You won't need to close it. If the smell were to come out of the gap it would come through the rest. The whole point of doing what you are doing, is you want a negative pressure seal. With that vent open. Air comes into it. (Can't come out of it, smell travels with air flow) just think about it for a sec. I use a sealed tent with no vents open and just leave the hole at bottom where you put the plug wire through keep that say on the bottom left, and extraction on top right will make for decent air flow. But you want that neg pressure seal. Look it up. There's a big difference in my bud already. And as for RH/TEMP whatever you keep your grow room at your tent will only be a few % difference in your grow room compared to your tent. Trust me a neg pressure seal you want. I won't go into it. There's just too much. Read up about it. As for what you are doing now you can seal up your tent or leave the vent half open no smell will move unless air is blowing out the seems and with a neg pressure it goes through the exhaust. You'll learn about co2 and the importance of bringing in O2 that will draw in co2. Having that vent sealed will drop your co2, unless you add extra co2 Good luck.

I have basically the same setup, I keep the lower vent open 24 7 even with photoperiod. I just keep the tent against a wall and block off the sides of the tent. You don't need complete darkness. Think of how bright it is with a full moon? Also I have seen outdoor grows with street lights shining and they still flowered with no issues. As for your extraction fan, you only need to keep it on low unless you start running into high heat/humidity. It looks a little high in your video. By having an extraction fan running it is creating "Negative Pressure" which means there is less air pressure in your tent then outside your tent. Air will always try to balance its pressure, So any air movement will be into the tent from pinholes, zipper and the bottom vent. All air escaping will be through the extraction fan. So when you put a carbon filter on it as long as you have it running 24/7 then it will be effective at removing smells. Get a small osculating fan that will sit on the floor of your tent circulating air, And a second "Clip Fan" that will attach to a pole and have it around 4" above the tallest part of the plant. And another clip fan( *not required) blowing on the driver of your light to keep it cooled off. Good luck and Happy Growing

These tents aren't sealed off an air will come through the stitching, but it might not be enough to keep the temps down and humidity in a proper range. I use a ducting hose through the circle holes on the bottom of the tent. Be careful because the ducting hose will reflect light and could act like a flashlight blasting light into your tent. You are running an auto so light leaks shouldn't cause intersex, but light leaks reduce bud sizes (not bro-science, actual studies done at the University of Utah show a reduction in bud size with light leaks). I use carbon prefilters because they are dark and cover the ducting hose with a t-shirt so no light gets in the hose. https://www.breathenaturally.com/products/honeywell-hpa300-replacement-carbon-pre-filter-r3

i couldnt play the video but i’m guessing thats a fuck up on my end and not yours. so this will be a broad advice because of that. the air movement you want is between the plant and the lights mostly. meaning the wind from the fans shouldnt hit the plants directly because over time constant wind hitting the canopy will dry those leaves and it’ll look like some form of deficiency which you cant seem to correct no matter what because its not a deficiency but windburn. so dont let the wind from the fan directly hit the plants. aim it between the canopy and the lights and the wind should directly hit the wall of the tent. as for air exchange if you close that window in your pics air cant enter into your grow space so thats not going to work. what you do is you use the same ducting shown in the first pic and attach it to a bottom slot in your tent so the air enters through that ducting and exits through the one in the first pic. or since this is an auto and light leaks are not a issue for this plant you can keep that observation window open for air exchange and because there is negative pressure in the tent smell will not escape.

DETAILS!!!!! 1) The crack you see in the photo is currently always open. I use the extractor 24 hours a day and I hope that enough air enters from that slot. But when the plant starts flowering, I will definitely have to close it because of the smell and everything will have to pass through the carbon filter. Once that slot is closed, how does air get into the grow box? This thing is unclear to me! [The grow box is in a 3x3 closet (which is in my bedroom) whose door is always open and I have a small window that is always open in my bedroom. Also, the exhausted air ends up in my room and not directly outside the window]; 2) In the video you can see the effect of the fan on the plant, I think it is sufficient as air movement. In the next few days, I will buy a slightly more powerful fan for when the plant is large. Thanks guys!!
