Nute lock or nute deficiancy?

Laxguy420
Laxguy420started grow question 2 years ago
had some yellow leaves start to pop up on one of the girls. Looks like a nute lock that we will address with a PH water flush and then slowly wrk them back up onto the feeding schedule. Didn't check my Ph and my guess is Ph went too high in the soil.. Thoughts from my gurus?šŸ˜‡

Beautiful grow, mate... and you've got a handle on SOME of the things I'd recommend... the flush, the pH ... but one thing I would advise is to knock back on the Grow Big completely... I use Fox Farm myself and Grow Big is SUPER potent nitrogen which is not needed in flower - the Tiger Bloom will provide all the nitrogen needed at this stage. Even in veg, the most of that stuff I give is 1tsp/gallon! Too much nitrogen can also cause the lockout you're experiencing - you can, without any harm, increase your dose of Big Bloom as this will pump more Potassium and Phosphorus into your buds... So get rid of Grow Big, flush, make sure your pH is between 6.2 and 6.5 and you should be good! Good luck!

High Laxguy, The cause of this deficiency could be pH issues or overfeeding. They both cause nutrient lockout so it doesn't really matter what the cause is. But it does matter that you can fix both of these problems with a good flush of your soil and I will explain you how you can do that the best. You can do this flushing by slowly pour water pH 6.2 onto the top of the soil, allowing it to drain freely from the bottom of the pot. Pour slowly, so the water doesn't overflow from the top of the pot. Use approximately four times the pot's volume in water to flush the soil. For example, use 1 gallon of water for a 1 quart pot. After the flushing you need to let the soil (almost) dry out completely. From there you can start giving water with pH 6.2 and nutrients but do not exceed EC 1.8 to make sure that you don't overfeed them in their last weeks working hard making those buds bigger, fatter and juicy! Happy Growing! šŸ˜‹

Guessing there is a PH problem and treating it with out checking to see if it is a PH problem seems a bit weird to me. I would always try and verify the issue before issuing a treatment or remedy. I also agree with Hashy and think the EC is a bit high, plus in soil is not advised to flush it out. Soil tends to hold onto to much water and then it can become water logged and cause root issues. I would lessen the feed if possible and hope for the best. I would agree with growinggrannie with the dropping the grow nute. Its probably as you said, a ph problem. Your Ec seems a tad high to me but once you drop the grow nute it should be at a better strength.

Yep, always check your pH first when a problem pops up. I'd say it's just fading, but you're only in week 3-4 of flower. It can be a handful of things: improper watering, nitrogen deficiency, nutrient burn, a lockout, or something else. It all comes back to the pH test so you know which direction to start in. I hope this helps. Good luck!
