Heavy defoliation during flower stage?

I am in week 2 of flower and see that I have some really dense foliage below the SCROG mesh. Is it wrong to do a heavy defoliation below the scrog to let light penetrate and let the plant focus on flower development and not taking energy on those lower leaves? Thoughts?

and if I were you, I would raise the light more because the plant is already showing the first signs of excess light, then there will be lesions on the leaves.

You can safely tear off the lower inflorescences and leaves, as these inflorescences cannot be strong and dense due to lack of lighting, but they will take strength and nutrition from the inflorescences that are on top

Just remember..... Less leaves = less enegy being made = less (bud) growth. ALL of the plants energy is made by/in the leaves, meaning the less leaves, the less energy there will be to grow the flowers! Don't do it! The flowers NEED the leaves to make the energy that they need to grow!

Nope, that's not wrong at all. Actually, that's what all experienced scroggers do, with the exception of growing outdoors. If you're allowed in your state, clone those little branches that aren't going to reach the main canopy. Then, you'll have enough clones to do an immediate run right after the plants you're flowering currently, are finished.

and i think you have magnesium issue because of too high Nitogen, have a quick look later all issues with calcium and potash will start ... https://www.growbarato.net/blog/en/deficiencies-due-to-excess-nutrients/ have few plain water cycles at least, maybe 3 without any feed, just well adjusted pH all should sort out. and ph for soil 6.0 could be too low, check nutrition absorption chart best ph for soil is 6.3-6.4 look magnesium even at those numbers is hard to access ... with your 6.0 troubles start, sort them before any heavy training. https://howtogrowmarijuana.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/PH_TABLE.jpg

you should, but i would do it 5-7 days later than those photos were made. go as high as sgrog even, start from bottom go high, only then do selective defoliation, will work better. i am big fan, but i have few rules, with scrog you already secured colas in theirs area, so just take off shading ones and never take off from top, leave first mature fan leave set and everything up untouched. you have great house, i was in love, have a look, yours still will have more than a foot of working canopy, they will stretch maybe even 50 cm + above scrog ... a lot to penetrate .. growdiaries.com/diaries/129716-grow-journal-by-asnoriu/week/726812

My advice Is to defoliate Always before the 2-3 week of flower (if Is a pure sativa you can go for 3rd week) with this metod you don't stress too much You can do the defoliation in one time, maybe she will be late for harvest like one week, but nothing to worry about :)
