Outer shell

Kruidenvrouwtje

Should I remove the outer shell of the seed from my seedlings with a tweezer so the lobe leaves can unfold? Or should I let nature run its course and wait until the shell just falls off?

Just let nature be nature. No risk really in letting it do its thing. However you can risk shocking your seedling by pulling off the casing. Happy growing bud!

if you can touch it off then do so. if you have to force it off then don't.

Keep it wet and it will fall off. One drop on the shell should be enough.Be careful on how wet you have the base of the stem when doing this as you don't want to get a fungal infection ( damping off )

I never mess with the shell - I always let nature take its course because that's the safest way and I don't want to damage the little seedling... Good luck!

I always spray it with a mist of water and pull it off asap, you can lose seedlings to helmet heads, not to mention she'll stretch. solution is to plant slightly deeper next time

Put a humidity dome over it and the extra Rh will help loosen it off. Don't try tweezers until a last resort.
