Cloning issues; inconsistency, wilting

Cloning newb here. I'm trying to root in soil, with a dome and misting intermittently. Some of the clones are doing okay, some are doing not so well (drooping, etc) and a couple are wilting and dying. Any idea what may be causing the inconsistency/failures?

Anytime mine would wilt within the first day or two - it was almost assuredly lack of water to the stem/root area.
Don’t give up tho man, that’s the one thing I hadn’t figured out was cloning but when you get it down finally it’s so sweet! Good luck

Oh and something like a root riot plug or rockwool would probably be superior for getting roots and less issues

Leaves point down/slow growth/ maybe rootbound or root rot? Did I fuck up transplanting too soon?I'm on the 3 week of the grow. The leaves started pointing down and they are growing very slowly. Since I have seen the roots on the bottom of the vase early on I thought the problem was rootbound so I transplanted them. But they are very small. Did I do wrong? Signs of root rot?
