Tent size to plant size- how much space does each plant need? What are benefits and drawbacks of 3x3, 4x4, 5x5 square vs 2x3, 2x4, 2x5 long tents? Have there been issues with any brand of tent?

I like my 2x4 tent. It works great for me. bigger tent = more plants, that's about it, note that with bigger tents you need bigger equipment as well. think lights, ventilation, fans, nutrients, pots, exct. I don't think I will upgrade past a 2x4, maybe a 3x5 at one point. I like the rectangle shape vs square. It works well with my lights. Some lights are designed for a square tent vs rectangle though. Max plants in a tent is estimated 1 plant per square foot with aorund 100w of light. If you got a 2x2 and a 200W light you can grow 2 good plants in there. Or one really big one. I have grown 3 plants in a smaller tent under 100w before, it worked well, they did not get as big as they could have if they had more light/room but I still loved every bit of it. Good Luck!

More space is better just to work around the ladies, as long as you have space on the outside for your vents and wires and hoses, ive never herd of anyone complain the tent was too big but i have herd of people having 2 spaces a momma baby spot and a flower spot

Well, you're growing a couple of plants now so you should be able to judge how much space they need... I would definitely go with one that is at least 6' tall though - you can always lower the light(s) if the plants don't get very tall (my first grow grew to a whopping 21" LOL) but you'd definitely benefit from the head room if you were to grow a taller strain. I've just replaced my 60" tall tent with one that's 72" and I'm loving it... my Tangerine Dream grow would have loved it, too... The thing about the larger tent sizes (4x4, 5x5 etc) is going to be cost. Not only are they more expensive but you're going to have to have larger lights ($$) and probably more of other equipment like a heater or a humidifier or a dehumidifier, extraction fans... the list can go on and on) - and then there's the cost of running the bigger lights, the heater, the humidifier/dehumidifier.. etc.. And then there are your own space constraints ... I can't fit a square tent in my place... just don't have the room although I would love to have a 4x4 - I've gotten quite rabid about growing and I'm growing in DWC so I'm not able to fit more than 2 plants in my 2x4 tent at a time... As far as tent brands are concerned, I'll take AC Infinity every day of the week and twice on Sunday... it's a marvelously sturdy tent and I think it's the best of the best... Good luck in your decision making... it will all boil down to what it is you want to accomplish with your grows and how much space and $$ you have!
