I found the roots worked themselves out of my giant diy pot, should i put water on the floor for them while watering or just top water and let them flounder for what they can catch

Lol...wouldn't pay much attention to them they will eventually dry out and fall off, the air pots have holes all through out them and it uses air to keep the roots within them, and they're designed to make them grow back within themselves...Many times I've had straggler roots and I just let ignore them or cut them off...Good luck

It's never a good idea for roots to sit in water... that will lead to root rot and a very sad grower.... Water until you have runoff, let the pot sit in any runoff for a few minutes to see if the plant will soak up the runoff... if it does, water it some more - keep doing that until no more runoff is being soaked back up into the pot and then get rid of the water that's in the saucer/tray... all will be well. Hola no te preocupes por tus raices. Las puntas sobresalientes se secaran y seguran creciendo por dentro del sustrato. Es una autopoda de raices. Y no le afecta en nada a la planta suerte.

No need to worry about the roots coming out of the pot, they will die soon enough and this will not affect anything.
