Why should the tap root grow for some days before potting?Not a problem, but I'm eager to learn: Most tutorials recommend to let the tap root grow to about 2.5 cm before potting. Does anybody have a rationale for that? To me this sounds counter-productive (light protection for roots, correct orientation of seed). What am I missing?Week 1

Roots at the base of stock above soilJust noticed what appears to be roots at the base of the stock after watering. Should these be covered back up from the light? Does it matter? They seem like strong roots that branched off just below the soil. First time I have noticed this. Thanks for any help or info. 👊

hola lo siento en menos de 3 días la mayoría de las semillas han germinado desafortunadamente pero las raíces se han salido del jiffy .. al tomar el jiffy y verterlo se rompió la punta de la raíz que sobresalía debajo del jiffy. ¿la planta recuperarse tranquilamente? gracias perd

Outdoor Bonsai: Root Pruning instead of Repotting?? Thoughts??I figured I would start off my first grow question with a bang:

Hurricane damage, any hope?So hurricane Ida came through and wrenched my poor Do-si-do over and did some damage to the roots. Stood her back up and supported but this morning she is hurting. Any advice on how to care for her in her time of need? Is what it is but still sad times. Winds were crazy.

NLXBB Is she Rootbound? Drinking 2 L a day in 2 Gal AirpotMy NL x BB is drinking about 2 liters a day. The top leaves aren't up as often these days.
