could try watering little amounts more often.
If the whole plug is lifting out it seems like it is getting to dry before you water.

When I've had this problem in the past I usually just put more soil on top, but I've never used crop cover, so not sure if an option?

Can root damage cause this?The little f*cker has a major damage to his taproot since germination phase. I accidently broke the tip of it. But she was very strong. Mold on roots??After having my ph problem "fixed" (plants are still turning lime), I wanted to check the second runoff, I lift up the pot, lo and behold, the roots have some "white" stuff around their tips, is this mold????
I can smear it on my finger, it leaves somewhat of a trail
