I've had some issues with over/under watering this grow (which is my first) and especially the past two days which is a little frustrating as I can't yet differentiate between the two, can anyone give me solid advice to identify and/or avoid under/over watering? Thanks!

I dont agree . In samrtpots to watr until there is a runoff is no good idea. Smartpots keeping everything very well together..... that means the water collects at the bottom of the pot. And does nt runoff. wateringregime is the hardest part indoors ( in my opinion) you can go with the potlifting methodof weighing your pots. : weigh/ lift your pots if you feel everything is dry ( knuckledeep dry and a dry bottom of the smartpot. remember that weigh and water your plants witharound 750 ml...... that should be good for around 2-3 days. then water gain if you reached the " dry weight" of the pot. I do it different, i tend to water everything but less. so i have a dry_wet circle ( a short one but there is one) and i can give them daily the average amount. Ive needed around 4-5 grows to find out a good watering regime that fits to me.

I never water a small seedling too far beyond its outer leaves. For bigger plants I stick my finger in an inch. If there is wet dirt on my finger I don’t water. Usually end up watering every 2.5 days this way.

Over watering: droopy leaves, with intervenal speed bumps (leaves cells full of water) and cracked cells (like your fingers after a day at the swimming pool), the pot weight is heavy ! Under watering: droopy leaves with no speed bumps , smooth stems, the pot weight is light !

@littlecletus it is a very steep learning curve you need to get past before you can routinely grow great plants. Apart from the drooping caused from overwatering I think yours look generally in good shape. They will require will watering as the buds fatten however you need to find a routine which suits you. One of the easiest and fairly straightforward methods is to simply compare the weights of an unwatered vs watered pot

Hello, Littlecletus. Your girl is looking great, maybe a little drunk from the overwatering. I see you use coco and perlite, so actually you shouldnt have overfeeding problems. Just let it dry out a bit more before you give her water again, never let it your coco and roots dry out complete. If you want to check if the plant needs water, raise your pot to feel if its light or still heavy from the water. You can also put a finger into your coco and feel if its still moist or not. Measure how much you give her so you now how much to give next time. Also your ph is way to high, thats why you get alot of nitrogen stored into your leaves (dark green) and maybe also the second problem to overwatering because she is not uptaking all her feedings. Right know in flower you need more P-K for your plant to uptake, and thats better with a lower ph around 5.9/ 5.8 at this stage of flower. Hope this was an helpfull answer. Keeo on growing my friend, Peace 😎👍

The most common and also easy way is to water them slow but properly until little drain comes out of the pot. Pour out that water, then feel the weight of the pot. Then all you have to do is to wait till the first leaves show signs of underwatering, first haning leaves. Then again lift the pot and fell how light he got. Then its time to water again and next time you will give them water one day earlier, so the pot feels light, the soil on top 3cm feels dry. That way you have still some moisture in soil but still dry enough that the roots can get some oxygen before watering again. That´s how I do it. You will get a feeling an a trained eye soon. Some hanging leaves are normally no problem, I forgot to give water twice, all leaves hung down. 8 hours after adding water she recovered fully.
