I’ve realised I’ve planted my germinated seeds too deep in the medium, only 2 of the 25 have come through within a week, is there anything I can do to salvage them? Or am I better off cutting my loses and starting again?
Solved
Germination. Substrate

All you can do at this point is to let it ride. But, I’d probably prepare to start again. Hope those weren’t premium beans. That sounds pricey either way.

Try to get some of the soil from the top then you will have a better chance but I only drop the seeds on top of the soil personally and I have a 98 % chance of getting a good plant

Give them more time. I've had seeds pop up from way below normal planting depths on my deck, Some seeds got mixed into the planters potting soil when I recycled the grow medium from a seed project I did, some of the seeds fell of the plants and into the medium, then sprouted all on their own. Easily 6 inches down once all mixed in. Keep em warm and moist and most should pop up. Hopefully the medium and nice and light and not to compact. Good Luck!

If you have realized that you have planted the germinated seeds too deep in the medium and only two out of the 25 have sprouted within a week, the seeds may be struggling to emerge due to the difficulty of reaching the surface. There are a few things you can try to help save the seeds: Carefully remove the top layer of the growing medium around the seeds to expose them more to light and air. Be gentle while doing this to avoid damaging the emerging roots. Provide a warm and humid environment to promote germination. You can cover the seeds with a dome or a plastic bag to retain moisture and maintain a constant temperature. If the seeds still don't sprout after a few days, you can try reseeding in the same growing medium but at an appropriate depth. This way, you can give them another chance to germinate properly. If, after these attempts, the seeds still don't sprout, it may be best to start over with new seeds. Sometimes setbacks occur in cultivation, and it's important to learn from them to improve in future attempts. Wishing you the best of luck and success in your future grows!
