Estrés termico germinación en exterior

When I germinate outdoors, all the seedlings die from thermal stress. The space is a terrace in eastern Spain, with high temperatures and little ventilation. Any ideas to avoid this? I can't shelter them during the peak hours of the day (I'm at work).

Hello nonick123, I would simply use a fan with oscillating mode to keep them cool. And the first few days after germination you can keep them inside to protect them against the elements. Just move them into the sun when they start to strech searching for more light.

I know I can't change the outside temperature, but I'm going to try putting a fan to cool it down or using a shade net to reduce the heat. I'm "trying" the cheap LED thing in the grow journal, but I don't know if I'm doing it right... growdiaries.com/diaries/172118-grow-journal-by-nonick123 Thanks for the ideas massivetids, Creepy_Steve, and GMSgrows!

are you asking how to manipulate the weather? LOL... some sort of shade that lets some but not all light through? grow indoors? you can't run an AC outside so i'm not sure how you expect to reduce temperatures on your terrace. shade is all you can do. a fan can help with circulation, obviously.. but could be a fire hazard outside if not one made for elements. Get a cheap LED with minimal power.. germinate under the LED inside and wait until they are a bit more robust before placing on terrace?

Try sprinkling a little cinnamon around the plants and water in. It helps from young plants damping off
