Can drying be done with me gone for 7 days? (grow tent- either on racks or in a drying net) - (also cannot wait any longer than 6 days due to traveling)

Wk13: I am reaching harvest soon (4-6 days) and have timed it so curing can be done while I am home. But until then, I will be gone for a week. I plan to hang it in my tent and watch it for the first 2 days but after that, I cannot be home. Is it okay to do - Any tips or advice

Yeah you'll be fine. As long as your tent is in a good range with temp and humidity it's probably best to keep in the tent in the dark undisturbed anyway. I usually keep a small fan going to circulate air, but not around the leaves, just around the bottom of the tent with maybe an outlet fan still going at the top. Defoliate any large fan leaves but leave hang the plant entirely upside down from the top of the tent keeping any leaf that has trichomes as this will be useful as trim to make bubble hash etc with. In 70-75 degree temp with 55-60 humidity, your plants should take about 12-15 days to dry sufficiently until the stems break, depending on their size. Don't rush this process! Probably 90% of all mistakes are made at this stage due to impatiency at the dry/cure process. PS - those plants look a lot further away than 4-6 days from harvest! Can't you delay?

Thanks again for the tips! @Creepy_Steve; I think that is what I will do - I also agree on one of the plants could use a week more (or maybe two) at least, but the two others are closer to finish and will have to harvest it all together. I hope that by cutting them on Saturday, they will be ripening some more until then I had hoped to actually be done some weeks ago - but especially one plant took the stretch quite far, and I guess it slowed down the ripening compared to the other two (that looks a bit ahead). I will cut them down this Saturday and watch them for a day to check the parameters (heat/humidity). Hopefully, they will be ok by the time I am back :) I guess that means a dry trim if I do it like that (but as I haven't tried any trimming method, I guess no worries and just trying the best I can).

I would hang entire plants to slow down drying process... that way it should take longer than 7 days. you can take off the fan leaves, but i'd leave the sugar leaves to help retain some moisture. could just leave the fan leaves too, doesn't matter, it would help slow it down too. circulation fan is good idea, but do not point it directly at any hanging plants. moving air in the room is enough. you don't need to be there as it dries, you just need to be there when it's nearly dry and ready for some containers with humidity control. fwiw, i think you have more than 4-6 days. long white pistils usually means you have more ripening to occur.

Thank you for the tips, my buddies :) I live in a relatively humid area (Northern Europe) - Not that I know the RH for the drying environment yet, but the grow tent has been sitting around 55-60% for the flowering period. I have two fans in addition to my exhaust/filter and a dehumidifier if needed. My biggest concern is they dry up too fast - but I have read that longer drying periods (if kept correctly) are better than just 4-5 days. I have also the option of letting friends come over while I am gone, but they do have not that great experience with what I am doing :) So this would be a backup solution. Electricity is a concern but they have been running for 3 months without problems (although I do sometimes worry). I aimed to dry them for 10 days total (with room for more if they are not dried after that), but I will leave on Monday (7 days from now) so in principle i could harvest tomorrow and do a quick dry (and let friends burp for the cure). It is my first grow ever, so I would, of course, hope that the end game also goes smoothly :)

As they say, a good cook does not leave the stove when it is operating. But if you have to, I would say run a test run, put a humidifier in your drying space, crank the humidity to about 65 and see if you can keep that relative humidity consistent for a week. If you can, you might be able to leave for a week and have the plants dry on their own without loosing too much quality. I would say next worry about electricity and the hazards that leaving fans and such running alone for that long.

You could freeze it and finish when your back curing good weed is what makes or breaks it

Youre gonna ruin your grow if not dried properly. 60% humidity 60 degrees for 16 days. Anything else is compromise
