Light Distance - Question for all

I have a question for the collective here. Lots of questions about the distance to lights. My plant tops are about 12in. Away from my 250W LED light, the plant seems to be doing fine, no issues. What is the closest you have had you plant to lights and not seen an issue?

Safest thing is to use a light meter. Cheapest way is to get the photone app. I tried both and surprisingly the photone app was very precise with my iphone and a damper (a piece of white paper taped around the top 😅). It was pretty much the same reading with either the app or the meter. Photone also has a light suggested chart on their website that not only saves energy, but it also prevents you from burning your plants. Overall, I take this all with a grain of salt, because if you pay attention to your plants, they will communicate with you. So, in conclusion, crank the light in flower, and watch the response. Adjust accordingly to your personal set up. Blessed growing!

Hello friend, its dependent off strength off light fixtures or better said haw much you drive it on what current. It can go to 8-10inch but i not going below 12 inch , Light that penetrate @10inch will have more energy on tops off plant and less impacts to middle or bottom part off plants because it don't have enough power to pernitrate. If you have light @ 24inch from canopy and same PAR value on tops , you will have much better penetration to bottom, because you have more photons

It really depends on the light mate Most boards are 45cm in veg and 30cm in flowering. Most boards when you go past 30 and lower you lose ppfd. As they need a set distance to hit their max even par / ppfd output. If you get a lux meter or check your makers rec. They'll show you a ppfd chart and what the figure are at varies heights. It really is a set thing mate. Its your combo of your light and intensity of your light. Bars you can move as close to 20-25cm.
