What's the proper way to measure ph?

When checking ph levels, is it supposed to be done before or after you put the nutrients in the water? Or both? I'm using Dasani bottled water and it has a ph of around 6.8. After I add .8ml of both Humboldt's Secret parts A&B, the ph drops all the way down to like 3.6-3.8. Help!

Hey Buddy, We got you covered :) First I would suggest you check your ph of your water of getting a feeling from which base all starts. BUT only the ph count after you put nutrients inside the water, stirr it up, and leave it sink for like 5 mins. Then check ph and adjust as needed with ph regulators. I can recommend you Bio Bizz up(+) or down(-) - which are organic as well. Works perfect for me even though Im not using their nutrients line. You can either us PH stripes (not that accurate - but cheap) or PH pen. If you need further help - feel free to drop me a DM Cheers and u will get this fixed - no worries :)

You have to put certain in, so off course measuring and adjustment of ph is last thing, after all add ons are inside and you gave 5-10 min to settle up . After that you adjust and only then water.

The PH drops because their is nothing else in it, You measure the PH after everything is added into the feeding solution. and then adjust if needed. Best to let it sit for a bit to stabilize itself. Also DO NOT feed your plants bottled water. Dasani a) taste like shit, b) is practically distilled/RO water, c) costs money that's not worth it. Keep your overhead low, this hobby costs way to much as it is. Dumb companies charging way more for canna related products but its all still horticultural shit. Given that its almost distilled it does not have any other micros in the water like cl, fe, mg, ca so they will all need to be supplemented into the feeding solution. Just use tap or rain or any other natural source you got close by that's not a drain pipe from the city streets. PH should stabilize once you chnage the water source. Good Luck!

Agregue los nutrientes y luego mida su ph. Mantenga los valores entre 5.8 y 6 en etapa de vegetales. Suerte

You should check thr pH of what you are putting in the soil so your watering pH is 3.6-3.8. As you already know, the pH should be higher, typically between 5.8 and 6.2 so try using some pH up. I personally use Biobizz pH up and down because they are well priced for what they do and 1 bottle lasts years. Good luck with the rest of your grow and keep monitoring pH becuase it truly makes a difference

When you add nutrients you change the PH.You will add the hole nutrients that you are using and then checking the ph level,if its too low you will add a fertilizer which raises the PH(i dont know what you are using because im using the BioBizz UP and Down witch are 2 bottles who are doing their job.Im not saying you do buy those fertilizers just find one that suits on you. Im going to leave a link for the product im talking to,you dont need to buy it from the amazon,go to your local store and search for it,its easy to find:https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/Terra-Aquatica-Paher-Test-30ml/dp/B004ZL1ELO If you dont want to waste money you can buy a ph checker with drops.Υou will put the water you want to test in the container and then you will put a drop of the product. it will give you a color that resists a number of ph. So you can adjust it as you want over and over again until you get the desired result you are looking for.
