So my TDS are high right?? I live in the Phoenix area, very hard water. I used a garden hose filter that apparently will pull some of the minerals out. But at 660ppm for fresh water after just a light amount of nutrients for the seedling. What happens if I continue like this?

Honestly a lot of what is in the water can and will be uptaked by the plant.. So it's a lot harder to balance out a "balanced" nutrient feeding if your water is rough... Aerating and all that jazz will not change the amount of TDS in the water.. Water is such a huge part of the total puzzle.. Like water + light + a little bit of nutrients = growth.. It's really hard for me not to recommend you getting an R/O system for yourself.. As growers spend a lot of money on our growing efforts or can.. And if your gonna be spending money... Then you should be willing to spend a bit more... Your plants will thank you... Your overall results can improve and your lungs will thank you as well. Good Clean water is a such a key ingredient to the end results.

If you have a dehumidifier, i yould use this water has the distilled waterbcan vary from 30 ppm to 50ppm depending even lower depending on model but dosen't exceed much over 80 from what i'v notice. I use my dehumidifier water especially for my seedling. Its a cheaper cost then a r-o systeme and can get a decent working one in a thrifstore if on a budget... RO yould be a great solution. But depending on the amount you need could be either a costly by or a great alternative.. buyibg osmose for a few fallon a month versus a few gallons a day might be a decisif factore. You can also get a water testing kit for aquarium and test all the mineral in your water. This way you can tell what is in your water other then ph. You can calculate most nutrient that in the water this way you can balance your nutrient with what is in your water and yould be right in check for your ppm during mid vegetative stage... That'a what i would do test whats in my water and work my nutrient accordingly, cheaper then buying lots of equippement for small grow up... Used distilled water for seedling and think about how i would lined up.. yiu can even get a local fishstore to test the water for a fee. Or even better a lab. This way you know what is in your water.. most time its high in calcium an magnesium

Hey I would check what your PPM is before any nutes. My water is about 150PPM before nutes. If you are more then 300PPM I would out another filter in to get that under 200PPM. Happy growing

I grow in soil but I'm on well water so I understand about having hard minerals in the water. I haven't ran into any issues and have found the exact opposite with the plants loving it. When I was on city tap I'd use a pump and aerated it for 24hrs before using.
