There is something called IPM or Integrated Pest Management were you apply pesticides are regular intervals to prevent any infestation assumejng that it will happen, some use sticky traps and other use BTi as watering to kill off a lot of soul based pests. Spidermites are a bit more tricky, they don't seem to be affected by Most pesticides they need special poisons. Miteacides derived from Pyrethrums are great and work well on mites but they should not be applied in flower, so kill em all off before they bloom. You can also use predator bugs to hunt out and kill mites as part of your IPM, it works best to have them before you see a problem. And with predators, you cant use other pesticides. Two dot spidermites love cannabis n are a bitch to get rid of. Best Of Luck!

I should also add i do not use any IPM into my grows. I just treat the issues when they arise, I’ve seen thrips more times then mites but I've also seen mites before.
