Athosanswered grow question 6 years ago Keep in mind that short is not the same as underdeveloped. A twelve inches 3 node plant is not better than a two inches 3 node plant, actually it’s a sign of bad light conditions or cold temperatures (or both).
Having a short plant is something desirable, if the plant has short internodes it means the light intensity it is receiving is just right and the plant has no need to stretch and that the temperatures are fine too; notice also that there is no sign of heat stress, so the light is neither too far, nor too close.
I’ve had a 7 nodes plant of 15 cm (6 inches). Keeping the plant short in vegetative stage will help when it stretches.
