I havent tried cigar humidors but I believe they are a great way to cure as you say.I prefer jars. The are Im living in is too dry,4 days drying is always enough for me,then I put them in jars.First week in jar is the most intense part of curing.Crispy buds get wet,I remove the top for about 1 hour(depending on the wetness.if not that wet,10 mins is adequate) . After a week, they get better feeling when I touch. After first 2 weeks, this is the sweet spot. My way to go.
I don't use humidity packs if not necessary. They release moisture and suppress the smell and arome of buds.I only use them if buds get seriously crispy and remove the pack when I get the desired level of "bud moisture" . Not "jar humidity". %62 humidity in jars with hum. pack is not that important. How buds look and feel is the aim for me. I may buy a cigar humidor but I already have 22 jars filled with buds.I would need a huge humidor box :D
