The leaves are the solar panels of your plant. The more it has, the more energy/growth. If you need to remove any of them - have a reason. If there’s a humidity issue, or if it’s blocking light. With light blockage, most of the time you can just tuck leaves, or move them around. You can even move branches to make way for more light penet

Leave the leaves! More leaves = more energy production = more growth. Less leaves = less energy production = less growth.

For a week i would not touch anything yet, keep flattening them. Later bottom needs some clearing for better air circulation under canopy.

unless the leaves are creating an issue then Leave them alone because they are the main source of energy for the plant
