Different Phenotypes?

floridaboy

2 plants from the same seed type purchased together. They look really different. I thought the one with the swollen calyxes was hermed, but research said otherwise. But one has trichomes and decent smell while the other has faint smell and no trichomes to speak of. Thoughts?

This is a classic case of different phenotypes. Same seed from the same plant but will grow and show different traits. Think of it as two sister, from the same mom and dad. Similar, but not the same. To get very similar results and even out the genetics in plants, it takes many generations of breeding to stabilize the strain. Until that happens you can get different results out of the seeds. I hope this helps.

like brothers and sisters dont look identical, thats how same strain from seed plants dont either... some can inherit granpa or grandmother genes and be absolutely different.... most of strains are hybrid, so not only taste will vary, but height and bud structure ... some houses invest a lot of time into breeding and stil from 10 seeds you get few different phenotypes...
