Is this Soil Mold Safe?

After rainfall, I notice mold on top layer of soil. Approximately 70 days from seed. Photoperiod, outdoor grow in 7G fabric pots. I know powdery mildew and botrytis is a death sentence for plants in flower, but with these girls in veg - is it okay? What should I do?

molds in soil are normal, mix it into the top layer. maybe apply a mulch later like straw to help prevent it from spreading to much, and don't over water. also if you use amendmends they will mold on surface layer if not mixed in well.

No, that mold obviously doesn’t spread on plants since your stem is completely clear. Don’t panic and apply simple logic 😂 Happy grows

This looks like a type of saprophytic fungus, meaning that they feed on the dead organic material in the soil. They won't feed on your plants or cause any direct damage to them. I would just break up the top surface of the soil a bit with a fork and the problem should sort itself out as it dries.

Spray with hydrogen peroxide, wait till dry, repeat if needed. Then put a layer of perlite or sand(not to fine or play sand) on top 2cm. And use 30 % perlite in your soil next time for better aeration. Much success 🤞and Happy Growing
