When you hang.. how long are you doing it for? do you have a fan blowing air around in the room it's drying in? what's the humidity in there? a good way to tell when it's done drying is to snap the stems.. if they snap right off nicely then they are ready for burping.. And remember it's a slow long dry that your after.. hope this helps!

Thanks for all great advice. Huge help alot of things I need to do different. I've kept humidity at about 43% on the room with jars. I need to pay closer attention to when I jar them...when the stem snaps. I went to early to the jar. Only been burping once a day. So much to learn. Using bag seeds to learn. Working on Defoliation also with different plants. Trying the Coco Loco soil and Forrest Ocean or Ocean Forrest. I don't think I'm quite ready to try the Early Miss sets I have yet. Doing a total clean of the tents and room and all equipment this weekend before starting next bag seeds. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP!

I had that happen to me, in one jar, during cure. Too soon, from drying process. I forgot to burp for a few of days I had to lay out all the buds on clean paper, in the dark, and blow a light fan over them for about 2 hrs (room humidity was 35%). Then constant burping after that. Oh, I had to break apart buds, to remove the moldy areas. If your ambient humidity is over 60%, you will have a hard time drying, curing, anyway. Please get yourself one of those small hydrometers, 2"x1 1/2", and leave in one of your jars. If over 70%, you need that constant burping, followed by 15 mins leaving it open. Once you get in the mid 60s, you need only to burp once a day, at most.

When you put the buds in mason jars how wet they are still? Basicrule is that the stems should snap easily and then it is dry wenough for the jars. When burping the the jars make sure to check if the buds feel too wet again 'cos if they are dried too fast the insides of the buds has some moisture still and you might need to burp more often

sealed jars shouldn't be used... (i use sealed jars, do as a smart person would and don't.. lol.. yea, i'm stupid for using jars - self-deprecating) if you keep using them, make sure to run them through dishwasher or soemthing to heavily clean them beteween each use. if a room or area is colonized, it's probably just going to keep happening.. do a deep clean anywhere the buds go from the time you chop it down to where you finally trim it, to where you store it etc etc... could be anywhere, they float around. Keep temperature in mid 60s or so. Keeping humidity below ~60% will help. Good airflow will help - not direct fans, of course, but a fan in the room for sure. use boxes lined with parchment paper that you can open lid a bit more to adjust humidity and just a layer of bud, not heaps on top of heaps. need some hergrometers if you want to do it right. (i don't, but with mold problemss, i probably would and likely will in future). check ed rosenthals blog out.. temps and humidity are the key. those are the two main factors to prevent growth.

It typically is done two to four times per day as the cannabis cures initially and is necessary less frequently as the RH percent drops. This method requires daily attention to detail and opens up a large amount of room for error, since it’s done by hand. Also, if you live somewhere with high humidity levels, burping the containers might actually be letting in air that has too high of a RH, which can cause your buds to re-moisten. a snip from that link..
