How to recognise mould in drying buds

I have harvested some buds from my White Widow auto more than 10 days ago. I hung it on a drying rack in a room with a ventilator. How do I know there is no mould inside? Does anyone have pictures of dried buds with mould to compare for me?

Mold will have a bad smell and texture. It will be grey and mushy and fuzzy. If your buds are not that. you are ok. Bud rot when its growing is bad but in cure jars is even worse. Gotta pop em and flush with fresh air and take notes on smell. Cat piss smell means you need more dry time and they went in wet.

Its probably a complex topic but those buds looking good "Total yeast and mold levels in high THC-containing cannabis (Cannabis sativa L.) inflorescences are influenced by genotype, environment, and pre-and post-harvest handling practices" https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/microbiology/articles/10.3389/fmicb.2023.1192035/full This publish may help to understand the problem and prevent it

Why would there be mould inside? Never try to save a plant that has mould on whilst growing, smoking it can be pretty harmful.

Almost looks like bleaching or brown, similar to mould you would get from bread or food, it's not that easy to miss, I see absolutely nothing that looks like mould. But then again I've only seen it once or twice irl.

Those buds look totally fine i don’t see any signs of mould here Real mould (botrytis) usually looks like greyish or white fuzzy spots deep inside the bud and has a musty, old smell. Yours look frosty and healthy, just full of trichomes If you still want to be sure, gently open one of the thicker buds and check the core for grey/brown areas or that damp “rotten fruit” smell if none of that’s there, you’re 100% safe
