🙏 Namaste and welcome! 🙏
That’s beautiful to see, growing together is a wonderful journey to start.
First of all, thank you for asking and for wanting to do this in a kind and thoughtful way. That already tells me she’ll do great 🌱
Now, just my humble opinion, keeping things as simple and forgiving as possible for a first grow:
🌿 Auto vs Photo (important one)
For a first-timer, I’d personally recommend photoperiod plants, not autos.
Why?
• Autos are fast but not very forgiving
• Small mistakes early on can’t really be fixed
• They don’t wait for you to learn
Photoperiods, on the other hand:
• Give you time to correct mistakes
• Can stay in veg as long as needed
• Are much more beginner-friendly
Learning is smoother, calmer, and more enjoyable.
Medium choice
For a first grow, I’d keep it simple and natural:
Soil is by far the most forgiving medium.
It buffers mistakes better than coco or rockwool and feels more intuitive.
Options that work great:
• Lightly fertilized soil
• Organic living soil
• Super soil (even easier if done right)
Coco and stone wool are great, but they demand more precision and daily attention, which can be stressful at the beginning.
