Usually, cannabis exhibits opposite phyllotaxy, with two branches emerging from each node, and later in life, alternate phyllotaxy, with one branch per node, going back and forth between sides.
With whorled phyllotaxy, with three per node, the sets of three that come out “flip” or rotate 180 degrees with each new set. First three come out, then the next three come out rotated 180, then the next three rotated 180, and so on.
