I'm going into flowering stage soon and was wondering about defoliation of the lower leaves after doing some LST - stretching out branches horizontally... Should I remove the lower leaves, focus on the bud sites access to light?

Hi @Growery yes you can do some defoliation on leaves that are shading the shoots but do it in small quantities, you can also cut some shoots that are at the bottom of the plant. the plant is not very dense in terms of leaves, too much defoliation can create problems for the plant. good luck mate 👍

I usually remove big shading leaves a day before triggering, then at weeks three and five in bloom, but it usually depends on the plant. I think these will respond well, as mine already look quite bushy, but I'm doing scrog and looks like I may have more space to let them spread out. I also do "lollipopping" a day before triggering and throughout the rest of the grow if necessary, mainly to promote air flow to reduce the risk of mould/mildew and increase light availability for lower buds. I remove just enough to see the pots below through gaps and not shade lower buds, but leave enough leaves to catch the light. I found that long, red petioles are often a good sign that the leaf may need removing. Your plants are looking great.

On that plant I would just keep the bud sites clear from shadow and leave it she is not heavily foliated in fact seems like she will be a dream to harvest.
