Budding question: a corollary to my Trim question Do buds get bigger when the buds are exposed to more light? why? Does removing lower buds and and leaves mean that the plant 'focuses' on producing larger, higher quality buds up top? What are the factors in order of importance for bud growth (eg, light, nutrient, exposure, ...)

GrowDiaries questions Why can't we respond to Questions answers? So often the responses are "I need more information to answer" in which case what do you do? Also what happened to the blog section? GD used to have, imho, the most helpful blog, but now it's just ads. SAD. What's the best grow forum?

Ooh Ooh that smell?Where's my baby's stank? I've done a dozen or so grows: cocos, dwc, shallow dwc... and while I have had some slight odor, I have yet to have an all out stink bomb of a grow. Don't get me wrong, this is a good thing because I'm ultra stealth, but is it a sign of deficiency?

To trim or not to trim? A philosophic enquiry Do the buds grow bigger by exposing them to more light (ie, cutting away most of the leaves around them) or is it better to leave the leaves to 'power the engine' of the plant so it can focus on bud development?

How do I stop my gummy bears from getting mouldy?I’ve followed the recipes and added citric acid as recommended and have dried them for three days, but when I put them in a lidded container they get mouldy after two or three days. Suggestions? Alternatives to citric acid? (Can I just wash off the mould/mildew?) Cheers.

Is there a way to minimise smell via nutrients?I’ve yet to encounter strong smell in a grow. I get decent yields but almost no odour: my buds are tasty and effective but probably not full strength (advert thc24 realistic thc18?) This is good! Smell is a concern. Is it the nutrients? Grow method (SWC)? I’m curious.

Bud rot 😥 Can I use neighboring-- not-moldy-to-the-eye-- buds, if I find bud rot while harvesting? Can I do something with the buds that have mold, i.e., can I neutralize the mold for use in edibles? 🙏. Cheers.

Multiyear seed storage options To freeze seeds for multiyear storage, should I put the bubble package they came in in a vacuum bag and seal it or should I remove the seeds and vacuum seal them in mylar dime bags. Cheers (why can't we respond to thread comments😕)

Non-Auto autoflowering followup: RQS offers discount instead of seeds. Acceptable?My photoperiod RQS Royal Highness under 18/6 light schedule, started to flower on its own. I suspect it's an autoflower sent by mistake. RQS said 'plants are living things and behave in different ways' and offered a 20 percent discount. I got it for the CBD. WTF. Acceptable?

Non-autoflower flowering follow up. 12/12 auto?I think my photoperiod (see earlier post) is an autoflower (RQS sent the wrong seed) but I’m growing it with another photoperiod that I want to put into flower. Can I flower an autoflower at 12/12 light schedule? What happens if I do? Cheers

Non-autoflower autoflowering My photodependant RQS RoyalHighness has started flowering on its own. She gets 18/6of light and veg nutrients in the tent in the attic and about 20cc of water a day. The leaves are perky, no signs of stress or malnutrition. Is this unheard of or a rare but uncommon occurrence?

Medical effects in diary reviews A stupid question: in the diary reviews I can see positive and negative effects of the strain but there is also medical effects (such as anxiety, depression etc), are these the results of smoking or the conditions that the strain is good for treating?

Pull or push?Is it better to pull air through a carbon filter or push air through? My options are to have the carbon filter and then a fan that pulls the air through it or have the fan blowing air into the carbon filter. Does it even matter?

12/12 back to 18/6 light schedule?I’m in wk7 of a DWC RQS RoyalJackAuto grow and it’s still in veg mode. Because of the lack of space I need to induce blooming so I’ve switched to a 12/12 light schedule. Once/if it starts flowering, can I switch back to 18/6?
