Is there a way to minimise smell via nutrients?

I’ve yet to encounter strong smell in a grow. I get decent yields but almost no odour: my buds are tasty and effective but probably not full strength (advert thc24 realistic thc18?) This is good! Smell is a concern. Is it the nutrients? Grow method (SWC)? I’m curious.

Nutrients can not magically remove a plants smell. A carbon filter in your grow space will "suck" the terpenes from your plant though, which can cause cannabis with very little aroma once harvested.

Yes, sulfur is nutrient of smell. But removing it will also kill the plant.

hey 👋 If you want buds with the same potency but without the smell, I recommend water curing : https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/us/blog-water-curing-your-weed-n852

the advertised potency is not likely representative of an average plant. could be some 1 out of 100 freak... depends on things you'll never know until you grow that breeder's strain and learn by doing. Not that we can tell a difference of a few percent just from smoking. Assuming competently grown plants, even if nutes have some small effect, it certainly won't do what you want. I'm not sure if you want it toned down or smell soemthing weird. As long as your drying process isn't resulting in overly moist buds sealyed up in a container incubating microbes, probably just the plants you are growing.

Volatiles are linked to the microbiome present, not just the genetics or macro-level environment. Chemotyping leading into genotyping for IP is a good place to look to begin your journey on this side of the science. Reproduceable volatiles requires clones, repeated environment, and repeated microbiome.
