Day 45 in flower... Trichomes are about 80% milk and no amber... The paint and big Z are 7-9 weekers and orange cake is 9-10... Def few weeks on the orange cake... But getting close to how I like it on the other two... The smells are outta this world... Orange cake smells like orange cake... Very orange like it's nuts... Never smelt anything like it tbh... The paint is a different pheno than previous ones because there's usually a chemical skunk smell but this is a fruity pebble smell with layers of earth smell and a sticky presence that doesn't go away for a long time lol... The big Z is another sweet smelling but more along the smell of a mouth full of Skittles and that dirt earth smell aftertones... They're awesome and I'm really excited! Day 46 They fattened up over night! Coming to n end... I did find little clusters of amber trichomes on the paint and I can't find many clear on the big Z... So it's right where I want it!

Thank you. Gave her a cocktail to help with stress. Added 1st net for lateral support, not so much now, but for later. Blue light is absorbed by photoreceptor proteins called phototropins, which trigger a hormonal response that causes cells on the shaded side to elongate, making the plant bend toward the light. Try and fill this side a little. She is quite big already, just needs to find her stride again after the undue torture. 5 apex stems with 20-30 mini cola, let them develop a little, with the apical dominance shattered, all those 20-30 will all compete with each other as soon as that stretch is initiated. Key to a good stretch is making sure the plant is cycling efficiently, with large ATP conversions occurring lights out. For now, I'm keeping light intensity high. A plant will slow its vertical growth in very high light intensities, leading to a more compact form with thicker stems and leaves. This response is a protective mechanism against light stress, which can damage the photosynthetic apparatus and lead to symptoms like leaf scorching, yellowing, and brittleness. Instead of growing taller, the plant invests its energy into creating a more robust, stress-tolerant structure. Providing plants with necessary antioxidants helps protect the photosynthetic apparatus by scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS) that cause damage from excess light. UV light exposure can impact the xanthophyll cycle by either enhancing its photoprotective role or causing damage, depending on the intensity and type of UV radiation. UV exposure can trigger the synthesis of more xanthophyll cycle pigments to increase the plant's capacity to dissipate excess energy, but it can also cause direct damage, particularly to Photosystem II, and may lead to a decrease in the de-epoxidation state (DEPS ratio) which indicates a reduced capacity to dissipate excess energy. Plants can respond to UV stress by increasing the synthesis of xanthophyll cycle pigments, such as violaxanthin and zeaxanthin, to improve their photoprotective capacity. UV-induced changes in xanthophyll cycle pigments can be linked to a plant's overall tolerance to high radiation stress. The xanthophyll cycle helps protect against photoinhibition, which is especially important when the plant is exposed to high levels of both UV and visible light. High doses of UV radiation can directly damage photosynthetic components, including the proteins, lipids, and pigments in the thylakoid membranes. Exposure to UV radiation can have a mixed effect on the de-epoxidation state (DEPS ratio) of the xanthophyll cycle pigments. In some cases, UV can inhibit the conversion of violaxanthin to zeaxanthin, resulting in a lower DEPS ratio and a reduced capacity for energy dissipation. However, the total pool of xanthophyll cycle pigments may increase, and this enhanced pool size could provide a greater potential for photoprotection despite a lower DEPS ratio. The xanthophyll cycle works alongside other mechanisms, such as the accumulation of flavonoids (UV screens), to protect the plant from UV-induced damage. Blue light repairs 100% UV-induced damage in plants through a process called photoreactivation, which uses a light-dependent enzyme called photolyase. This enzyme uses energy from blue and UV-A light to directly reverse the damaging pyrimidine dimers in the DNA caused by UV-B radiation, a key mechanism for maintaining the plant's genetic integrity. After carbon, light, water, temperature, and nutrients, the limiting factor of a plant's growth is often its own internal factors or the amount of a key ingredient. Chlorophyll concentration is one such factor, as the amount of this pigment limits how much light can be captured for photosynthesis. Other factors include chloroplast number, respiration rate, and the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, as plants are often in a CO2-deficient condition. 60x60x18=64800seconds x 700 = 45,360,000moles. 45DLI Exposure to 165 µW/cm² of ultraviolet-B (UV-B) light for 3600 seconds = 1 hour, a extremely high, acute dose triggering stress responses and protective mechanisms. . The plant's photoreceptor protein, UVR8, senses the UV-B radiation. This triggers a signaling cascade that activates specific genes to protect the plant from damage. In response to the UV-B signal, the plant ramps up the biosynthesis of protective compounds like flavonoids, phenolic acids, and anthocyanins. These compounds absorb UV radiation and accumulate in the epidermal layers of leaves to shield inner photosynthetic tissues. The plant may increase leaf thickness or deposit more cuticular wax, creating a physical barrier to the radiation. The plant will produce more enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants to neutralize the reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced by the UV-B radiation. The plant activates enzymes, including photolyases, to repair DNA damage caused by the UV-B. These repair mechanisms are critical for preventing permanent genetic mutations. While protective measures are activated, a high dose delivered over a short period can cause stress that overwhelms the plant's defenses. Photosynthesis is highly sensitive to UV-B. A high dose can inactivate Photosystem II (PSII), damage thylakoid membranes within the chloroplasts, and reduce chlorophyll content, which lowers the plant's overall photosynthetic capacity. Despite repair mechanisms, high UV-B doses can inflict persistent damage on the plant's DNA. The overproduction of reactive oxygen species can cause oxidative stress, leading to the oxidation of lipids and proteins and disrupting cellular function.

Alright, so she had a rather traumatic week. The pics won't show it, but here's what happened. I was supercropping her at the beginning of last week and all but snapped one of her lower branches, off. I taped it up and prayed... full recovery as of this post! The branch was wilting all week and all of a sudden the break point knuckled up and she began carrying on with bud development. She's been drinking nutes like a fuckin' fish. I've been watching the tips for burn, but it seems to be my nutrient regiment is right on the money. No burnt tips, just happy plant. Cheers all! 🍻 5-6 weeks until the chop! Ya gotta give Ethos a chance. Stellar run, EVERY time.

Week 4 Flowering D1-3 Not so many happened except that plant getting bushier and bushier 😂 She's flowering still slow and seems like she lost a week compared to my other plant but if that's just genetics , no problem. I m a bit worried if there's light leaking or something and shes stressed ...who knows, ill wait and see what will happen skipped defoliation at d21 of flowering with her and will do it as long as she finish stretching ! Same nutrients as she looks really healthy! till next update 💪🙏

trichs are milky this time i decided to chop as milky is peak thc and not wait to start amber this way i see it buds stay green even after a few months in jars Trimming initially only - and hang down in shaded ventilated place for 10-14 days Then moving to jars wood boxes for olding process

This little lady is a little slow growing but thats fine by me she’s doing a great job and looking very nice I’m splitting the main arms very nice and her under nodes are starting to really get the light and flourish how they should be :) 🌱 💜💜

Lights to 11.5 hrs, temps dropped, light raised, let's finish! I think next week it's time to cut them. More branches are falling over from #2 (back right) and it's yellowing nicely. #3 (front right) could use 2 or 3 more weeks but I don't think I will take it that long. It's a low yielder but its structure is very sativa. Smells good. #1 (back left) and #4 (front left) smell roughly the same, #1 makes very heavy branches and dense tops. Its looks are deceiving, hiding its yield under big leaves. Thanks for the interest. I hope your grow is as lucky as this current one. It has been really fun to experience the different phenotypes of SSH. Stay tuned for the harvest report. Hopefully I can take some better pictures.

Big changes this week. Day after last diary post I gave all 3 plants a defoliation and final lollipop. Top dressed with a significant amount of build a flower and 1/8 cup of craft blend. Some Kashi gold sprinkled and she should be good for a while Plants look great dropped temp a degree and Rh a few points down. Light is ripping at level 6 😂. Just water and rootwise this week. Can’t wait for these girls! Ppfd- 880 VPD- 1.3

So despite many obstacles and hurdles, we are on the last week of flowering hopefully the heat stays down for the next few days, and I can get some color into these nugs the sativa Room may need a few more weeks no big deal. This is typical of sativa leaning strains. this will give me a bit of a stagger in between harvest so I don’t have to do all the work in one day which is a good thing .

🌿 Frosted Guava Auto by Zamnesia | Pheno A | Week 9 ✨ She's Shining — And Sometimes Beautiful Plants Need a Little Cleaning Welcome back to another chapter of the 8×8 Adventure! And our Frosted Guava girl? She's still shining. 🌿✨ Actually... She's shining more and more. The flowers are developing beautifully, the plant remains lush and green, and those gorgeous flowering structures are becoming increasingly impressive. But this week wasn't just about watching her grow. This week, she told me something. She needed a little attention. Not because anything was wrong. Not because she was struggling. Simply because she had reached the point where some of the older, tired leaves had done their job and it was time to clean things up. So... we did exactly that. A little defoliation. A little cleaning. A little maintenance. And then? Back to letting this beautiful girl do what she does best. Grow. Flower. And shine. 💚 🌱 The 8×8 Adventure Continues For anyone discovering this diary for the first time, welcome to the 8×8 Adventure. This project is all about watching different genetics and phenotypes develop under the same general environment. The same room. The same 12/12 lighting schedule. The same environmental philosophy. The same nutrition strategy. The same lighting ecosystem. And yet... every plant tells a completely different story. Frosted Guava Pheno A has been writing hers beautifully. She's not necessarily the biggest plant in the room. She's not trying to compete with every phenotype around her. She simply has her own personality. And right now, that personality is becoming very easy to recognize: lush, green, balanced, beautiful, and increasingly frosty. ✂️ This Week: Time for a Cleanup Last week I was looking at her thinking: "She's looking really good." This week I was looking at her thinking: "Okay girl... I think you need a little haircut." 😂 There were older leaves. Leaves that had started to fade. Leaves that were no longer contributing much to the plant. And there were a few areas where the canopy simply benefited from a little more organization. So we went in and cleaned her up. Nothing extreme. Nothing crazy. No stripping the plant bare. Just a sensible removal of the leaves that had reached the end of their useful life and a little bit of canopy maintenance. Because there's an important difference between defoliating a plant because you think you should... and cleaning a plant because you've actually looked at the plant and decided it needs it. This week was the second one. 🍃 We Don't Need to Take Everything One thing I always want to make clear when I talk about defoliation: The goal isn't to remove every leaf. Far from it. Healthy leaves are still part of the plant's machinery. They're capturing light. They're contributing to photosynthesis. They're supporting the developing flowers. So even after the cleanup, plenty of healthy foliage remains. I took what needed to come out. I left what still had a job to do. And that's the balance I'm looking for. You don't need to make a plant look naked to call it clean. You need to make the plant appropriate for the environment it's growing in. And Frosted Guava now looks exactly where I want her. Clean enough. Open enough. But still beautifully green and full of life. The Job Isn't Finished When the Leaves Come Off And here's something that I think deserves much more attention in grow diaries: What happens after defoliation? Because removing old leaves from the plant is only part of the job. If those leaves fall onto the floor... they don't magically disappear. 😂 They stay there. They dry. They break down. They can accumulate underneath plants, around pots, in corners and in places where we don't necessarily notice them immediately. And that's not what I want inside my growing environment. So after cleaning the plant... we clean the room. Old leaves come out. Plant debris comes out. The floor gets cleaned. The areas underneath the canopy get checked. Anything that shouldn't be there... gets removed. Because maintaining a clean growing environment isn't about making the room look pretty for photographs. It's about good hygiene. It's about reducing unnecessary organic debris. It's about making the environment less welcoming to unwanted problems. And when you're running a full room like this... cleanliness matters. 🌿 A Clean Plant in a Clean Environment This is something I've learned more and more throughout the 8×8 Adventure. The plants are only one part of the ecosystem. The room itself matters. The floor matters. The pots matter. The airflow matters. The surfaces matter. The little pieces of dead plant material hiding underneath the canopy matter. Everything contributes to the environment. So when we clean a plant, we're not finished when the scissors stop moving. We clean the whole area. And then we can close the tent and say: "Okay. Now we're ready for another week." That's exactly what we did with Frosted Guava. 🌸 And She's Looking Beautiful And after all that maintenance... the best part? Look at her. She's beautiful. The green is still gorgeous. The flower structures are developing beautifully. The calyxes are becoming more pronounced. The white pistils are still standing proudly throughout the flowers. And the resin development continues becoming increasingly visible. This is one of those plants where I genuinely enjoy looking at the photographs because there's so much going on. From a distance, you see the overall structure. Move closer... and suddenly you're looking at individual flowers. Move closer again... and the calyxes and pistils become their own little world. That's what makes this stage so fascinating. The plant is still changing. Every week. ❄️ Frosted Guava Is Living Up to Her Name And yes... the frost continues. It's becoming increasingly easy to understand where the name Frosted Guava comes from. The flowers are developing that increasingly sparkling appearance, with resin becoming more obvious across the developing structures. We're still not at the finish line. Not even close to making any final judgments. But she's certainly giving us a beautiful preview. And those white pistils? I love them. They're still fresh and prominent throughout the flowers, giving the plant that wonderful contrast between deep green foliage and bright flowering sites. It's one of those combinations that never gets old. ☀️ Still Eating Photons The lighting strategy remains the same. The Future of Grow Black Series LED continues providing the primary overhead lighting, while Lumiflora continues contributing additional light into the lower portions of the canopy. And Frosted Guava is still doing what plants do best: turning photons into plant. Leaves capture light. The plant uses that energy. Structure develops. Flowers develop. And eventually we get to see the result of all of that work. At around 1,000 PPFD across the upper canopy, there is plenty of light available above. The under-canopy lighting adds another interesting dimension to the experiment, particularly as the room becomes increasingly full. The canopy becoming a little more organized. And then the room being cleaned afterward. I think that's worth documenting too. Because growing isn't just about taking the beautiful photographs when everything looks perfect. It's also about the work that happens behind those photographs. The cleaning. The observation. The maintenance. The little decisions. The things nobody sees when they look at the final picture. That's part of the 8×8 Adventure too. Clean Room, Happy Room There is something extremely satisfying about finishing a cleanup and looking around the tent. No old leaves lying around. No unnecessary plant debris. The floor is clean. The canopy is tidy. The plants have room to breathe. And then you step back... and look at the whole 8×8. That's when you realize how far this project has come. What started as individual plants has become one enormous flowering garden. Every phenotype different. Every plant with its own personality. And Frosted Guava has found her place right in the middle of it. 🔭 Looking Ahead Now? We let her work. The cleanup is done. The room is clean. The healthy foliage remains. The flowers continue developing. And Frosted Guava can simply concentrate on the next stage of her journey. I'm especially curious to see how much more those beautiful flowers will develop from here. The calyxes. The pistils. The resin. The density. The final structure. There is still plenty of story left to write. And I have no intention of writing the ending before she does. 💚 Final Thoughts — She's Shining Frosted Guava Pheno A is becoming one of those plants that doesn't need an introduction anymore. You look at her... and you know why she's here. She's beautiful. She's healthy. She's balanced. She's green. She's flowering beautifully. And she's getting increasingly frosty. This week she needed a little attention. So we gave it to her. We removed the older leaves that needed to go. We kept the healthy ones. We cleaned the canopy. And then we cleaned the room. Because good cultivation isn't only about what happens on the plant. It's also about what happens around the plant. Old leaves don't belong on the floor. Dead plant material doesn't belong underneath the canopy. And unnecessary debris certainly doesn't belong inside the growing environment. So we clean. We remove. We reset. And then... we let the plants shine again. And Frosted Guava? She's doing exactly that. She's shining. ✨🌿❄️ The green is beautiful. The flowers are beautiful. The calyxes are beautiful. The white pistils are beautiful. The frost is coming. And the whole plant is telling me the same thing: "I'm not finished yet." Good. Because neither am I. Planted in 25L Pot with pre-fertilized compost soil and a little bit of coco, perlite and little pieces of old woodsticks. As a fly protection i use spiders and there web to solve this problem because thats the only one i have. So when you see in my tent, webs and the little bit of soil on the bottom what keeps the tentfloor dry and is also good for the spiders, please keep that in your mind.

Pfff, explicaros que estas green ak xL son una variedad bastante difícil de cultivar, los cambios ambientales le sientan fatal, y hay que tener cuidado con la alimentación ya que se Sobrefertiliza fácilmente así que ojo, eso por un lado. Por otro si eres un cultivador con varios años de experiencia y todo te sale bien, es probarla, porque el sabor de esta cepa compensa la dificultad de su cultivo. Thc hasta 18% , sativa predominante. Genéticas: Afghan x Colombian x Mexican x Thai Landrades.
