the stretch has begun. in just 9 days the flowers are gonna start to form. i've been trying to give the plants more support. i placed a bunch of Bamboo through the cages to support the branches and placed a net on the smallest plant. ( the net's holes were too small, so i cut it up. only problem, since i can't reach the other plants that well i can't do the same for them. yet.) i'm working on it, i haven't had that much of time lately to work on the plants and the weather isn't helping either. most of the plants reached the height of 180 centimeters and maybe 190 before flowering. curious how big they will become when it all starts.

Plant has started to develop trichome and buds have started to swell. A very weak smell has started to appear. 4 more weeks to go. Hopefully 🤞🏻 it finishes it soon.

Going out of town for a few days so decided to rig up an automatic reservoir top off system. So added a new 15gallon "pre reservoir" with air stones and a timer pump. Every 12 hours it will kick on and send 2 gallons to the main res, where there is a float valve to shut off at a high water level. Also the tent has a flood sensor if tripped will kill the power to the pre pump. Should be safe to leave for a few days.

The hardest part of growing, is the time for harvest... I didn't do the norm, no 12/12 I do 10/14.. Do I harvest? I flushed her out, its only week 6 of flower, and I feel like there is plenty of time for these babies to bulk up... things are on cruise control, moon mintz is a 9 week flowering plant. She is looking absolutely BEAUTIFUL. This whole grow, except the hermie... has been a blessing. I love this plant, seeing my efforts going into these huge buds is very very amazing.

Well I decided I had to pull the plug on this girl with all the weird weather we've been having. I've been pulling yellowing fan leaves off her for a couple weeks now and with our 2nd heat wave and all the smoke & ash thrown in for bad measure... it's been truly weird. Yesterday was a day for the record books around here - it was so dark I could tell my pets were spooked. Even they knew it wasn't supposed to be this dark in daytime. Probably how animals react to things like a solar eclipse. If they haven't got somebody nearby to reassure them of some sense of normal - the alarm bells start going off. I hadn't really gotten the impression this girl was all that fragrant during the flowering process UNTIL I was washing all that ash off her this morning - then I was like - WOW this stiff is pretty intense in the nose. One thing I'm pretty sure of is that the sun ain't coming out for a couple more days the ways the smoke be flowing around here. We'll see. Two more plants on the patio but they aren't far behind. September 13 >> Debudded the Widow late this afternoon to make space in my shed to harvest Jack Herer in the morning. She was still a little moist as I harvested her 3 days ago - but it hasn't been that hot. The smoke is still hiding the sun and the atmosphere is labeled "unhealthy". Hung her up in my front bedroom to finish the drying process. I should note the passing of reggae giant (many say inventor) Toots Hibbert, of Toots and the Maytals last Friday. I went looking for some pics of the last show I saw him at and coincidentally it turned out to be one year ago today, September 13, 2019 at the Independant in San Francisco. I was lucky to have seem him a few times. So I uploaded about 30 seconds worth of Pressure Drop from that show. RIP Buddy. 😪 ====================================================== September 21 >> Finished hand trimming the Widow yesterday while mostly listening to the last round of the US Open. In September... while they're playing Stanley Cup playoffs too. Very weird time.... both these things normally happen in June every year. The buds weighed in at basically 8 ounces (227 grams). The trim came in at 325 grams - and in this case I use the Trimbag - although I don't think she was really dry enough to get proper function outa the bag. I still spent over 6 hours hand trimming the remainder AFTER the Trimbag in this case. It wasn't really a problem because I had like 10 hours of US Open coverage for 4 days to burn thru. In the process of turning all that trim into hash at the moment... because I'm all configured to go at the moment after making Wonder Pie hash last week. I'll stick it in the garage to dry for a few days and add the weights later. One thing I've noticed that's probably pandemic-related is 90% isopropyl alcohol has become very hard to find (haven't had to look for like 6 months because I had a couple bottles that lasted). I've used it to clean my glass bong/dab rigs for years. 70% is there - but even that now it's like you have to ask for it. Used royal queen seed fems popped 4 and 3 where successfully. Through veg stage no problems quite sturdy plants growth rate was the same on all round, had abit of nitrogen deficiency. Flower stage everything changed plants started to grow at different weeks and need separate feeds which became annoying, think this was done to pheno types being different. Drying stage: I used this new herb dryer called wedryer for to plants and hung the other in the tent. Wedryer works if you have small yield as can’t fit a lot, drys within a week though but also looses flavour. Have to wet trim bud and then leaves bud flat in one side due to them sitting on the dryer netting. Has fan with carbon filter which stops smells. (But myself prefer hang drying). Used trimbag to finish the buds off love this product and recommend to others to buy.

This week I just let her stretch.. Normal feeding schedule with no training.. With this strain I would love to test how she does with absolutely no pressure on her..

Defoliation week. Cleaned up under the canopy, and clipped the subpar Bud sites under the canopy. Foliar spray in use until end of week 4. Started to drop the temp to simulate changing of the seasons. 70*f during lights on, about 63*f lights out. Start of the week had an issue with the tent. After watering, the tent humidity went up to 90%. I have my Humidifier set to keep VPD between .8 and 1.2 and the system was trying to balance out between temp and humidity. Got cold one night. 3 days into this week and I haven't watered since last week. Soil still has plenty of water in it.

This plant is a Queen!! She is super healthy and has stretched like a champ. It seems like the stretch is slowing down which is good. She is the perfect size for my greenhouse at this point. I can still work around her easy enough at this point. The pistils are flying out now and she is likely to start developing the frost that we all love and admire 😀. I am watering with 7-10 gallons of water every 2-3 days at this point. I didn’t get around to top dressing her this week but I will this weekend for sure to make sure she stays happy. Onward 😎🍿🍻🌱

5cm vertical growth this week. A fair amount of new leaf growth.

First week of flowering

🗓️ Week 7 – Flower Week 3 (MAC n Cheese only) This week called for a slight adjustment in the feeding plan: I had ramped up to ~75 % of the Advanced Nutrients schedule, but the very tips of the leaves started showing mild signs of burn. To stay on the safe side, I’ve dialed it back a bit. 🌱 🌿 MAC n Cheese has been lollipopped along with the others – now all the plant’s energy can focus on developing the top sites. 📏 Post-stretch height: 102 cm Stretch seems to be complete, and this girl definitely reached for the sky. The tent is officially maxed out – lights are at their highest position now, with very little room to spare. 😅

Still drying in my wardrobe on hangers with a rotating fan and a mini dehumidifier. Harvested when the dirt were really dry. Splitted the stems to dry correctly.

I came back to the fridge after 6 days and stretch was running massively. They grew like 20cm in 6 days I changed my climate to: 27° C 60% rlf in order to adapt to early flower Day and Night same 45% light about 580ppfd Still running the water in a circle. Adjusted the scrog a bit in order to fill the space more They eat like 1100ppm CO2 an hour 😎 __________________ Update: last 2 videos show day 8 of flower ,🤙🏼 Decided to give them a heavy defoliation due to it being a closed loop system and them emitting tons of humidity. So far so nice 🏼
