Gave her a heavy defoliation! She's growing very strong, and needed a little thinning out! The defoliation promotes the lower buds growth, by allowing more light penetration! The defoliation also ensures that airflow throughout the plant is strong!

ritical Purple Kush was harvested on day 65 of flowering. This plant was a joy to grow, with no major issues throughout the cycle. Day 21 is today and resin almost doubled overnight on the acapulco gold. Its getting white out on the leaves and looks so beautiful. I think the strawberry cough was getting bleached on the tops so i cut it back to about 60% and moved it up and will readjust once it heals up a but. still getting 1000-1200 ppfd evenly

The first picture day 44! Well, we've finally got the purple colours coming in very strongly! Even the fan leaves are turning purple. The progression of the pigment looks like a pathogen has taken over but it's just the cool genetics of this plant. Smell is increasing, they have a very sweet odor so far when crushing the flowers. Still nowhere near harvest but the buds and calyxes are starting to stack. Very exciting that I got this one to grow!

Welcome in official week 5 of flower 🙏 We are in a cruise control mode now. Removed most of the fan leafs from upper parts of the plants and now it’s just time to wait watch and enjoy. All energy is now focused on developing buds and I really like what I can see. Maybe they are not the biggest plants in my history however they are the most healthy ones. This week we are adding overdrive to feeding chart 👌 EC this week around 1.8 every 56h and 24h pure water pH 5.7 - 5.8 Stay tuned!

Surprised by how well the water is wicked to the medium from the water bottle, it took a long time, but wick works as intended. I was unsure how much if any nutrient would be transferred via wick but the high salt content altered pH at certain parts. Right before the symptoms arose I decided to supercrop the stem top to bottom on one plant, shortly thereafter the burning happened from the same plant from running 8.0 pH, and nutrient uptake ground to a halt on the plant that was dealing with stress. She doesn't seem happy. Remedied with aluminum sulfate, things seem to be coming back to normal. I need to be more careful with salts. I need MOAR knowledge. How many weeks shall we veg? Going to take a while to fill that canopy with just two plants, should probably start topping now but I'll wait until pH problem Is remedied first, a couple more days hopefully 🙏. I defoliated maybe 6 bigger leaves that had burned yellow on one plant, as it comes back to optimal range, this will be a good opportunity to observe the subtle differences that early defoliation can make. Added a pound of tourmaline powder and biochar, both increase soil urease and invertase activities. *2025 Didn't charge the biochar skewing my ph drastically. Urease is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of urea into CO2 and NH3 and is a key component in the nitrogen cycle in soils. Invertase (d-fructofuranosidfructohydrolase, EC 3.2.1.26) is the enzyme that capable both break down α-1,4-glycosidic linkage between d-glucose and d-fructose of sucrose and transferring αβ-D-O-fructofuranoside residue to an acceptor substrate (Toledo et al., 2019). Since tourmaline is widely distributed in the natural environment and has many excellent physical and chemical properties including radiating far infrared energy, permanently releasing negative ions, producing an electrostatic field, releasing rare microelements, and stimulating the growth and metabolism of microorganisms and plants, tourmaline had been conducted to alleviate potential environmental pollution. Perfect for how much seaweed I've added just incase.

Week 5 Day 28 to 35 Faster and faster they happily grow! Only the black berry showed me coupe of spots on some couple of leafs but nothing serious.

Took them out the tent so I can clean the grow room & tent. The ladies look amazing in natural light.will flip to flower in 7 days. Transplanted into a 25 gallon bag, lollipops and placed under a scrog. I also had to super crop some branches for it to fit below the scrog.

This week is basically more LST my plant that split has repaired herself within four days and looking amazing and has the most growth out of the three Widows

Week one is in the books. I planted them on directly into the substrate 11/28/22 (no germination) out of the 10 I planted 6 of them sprouted up. I'm excited for this grow because I have 3 new strains I have never grown. This is grow #7 for me going on 2 years growing straight with no break. Alright grow cycle, mistakes, improvements, etc... She did stay in veg for too long, her growth was slow and not the best and so she took quite long, next time i'll be there from the beginning so I can take care of her throughout. But her growth is really fun. It is a tall growing sativa with fairly tight noding when trained accordingly, producing long filled colas. The buds grow fairly dense and fluffly but do air out a little when dried. Trichome production was pretty impressive as well as terpene production. She had thrips since her early days but did not seem to mind them at all. I did spray them initially but once flower started I stopped. I believe predatory mites might have been feeding on the pupae in the soil, if that is what this specific species of thrips did, the reason I say that is I could never see adults only larvae. Whatever the case maybe they were there but the population never really increased. Something I did not mention during the grow is that those plants were played music during the days, music that is apparently developed for plants. The 10L pot was WAY too small for a true sustainable living organic and to provide enough space for the plant, that was a mistake, I'd say a 20L would be the bare minimum and still. The bigger the better. The hempy transfer did not hurt the plant and I believe even helped to some extent, BUT, I am still running test on the subject and so can't confirm anything, here are my observations Roots did not colonize the perlite, a little on top and the sides but that was it, I was expecting to see a big root mass in there. I believe hempy are great for salt fert as it hold a soup of nutes where the plant can feed from since the coco only holds very little Whereas in nature most nutrient are in the top soil where the highest amount of decomposition happens, this is where the highest microbial activity happens and so where the plant will find food. Living organic is trying to reproduce nature and so there is no need for the plant's roots to gather at the bottom of the pot. Although it could have potentially provided the plant access to a larger amount of water and possibly more oxygenation of the pot. Those are all theories, please speak up if you have other proofs. In conclusion , unless i get proven otherwise by someone or my latest running experiment , I will not be using hempies again as I believe it brings more complication and issues than a simple fabric pot. The lights, The 600w at the start was good, then I decided to add a 400w...😂 That was completely overkill and not necessary. Waste of electricity. And they started suffering from too much light it seems at some point, I raised the light by a good 30 cm and they were fine. 600 is more than enough. I am happy about how the soil performed but it has room for improvements. As for the watering technique I have been watering large ammount every few days, next time I will be giving constant small amount of water each day and a soak every week or so, I believe the soil might perform better under those conditions. She was also an easy plant to harvest whit her long colas which had very little foliage, I do trim in excess as I like my buds extra clean but the buds are not excessively bushy. The trims were use to make some bubble hash, around 100g of wet trims yielded around 1.5-2g of bubble hash. I did add a negative effect but only because it wouldn't give me a smile otherwise, but to be honnest it barely dries your mouth. The soil is going to be recycled and reused in a next grow. I can't think of anything else at the moment but if you have any question don't hesitate.
