Gorilla Cookies - Doing well in CoCo, one outgrowing the other so that will be plucked in a week or so.
AK - Doing well in CoCo, nice growth. 2nd in propagator dead due to sprinkler being too powerful.
Glue - In DIY Aero/RDWC prop. One seedling died due to issue with roots being broken by sprinkler being too powerful.
GSC - In DIY Aero/RDWC prop One seedling struggling other doing well.
Lessons learnt: Going full Aero with a sprinkler hasn’t worked well, the exposed roots and force of the sprinkler meant that the seedlings exposed have either died, or had issues. The seedlings i used rocks to protect the roots from the jets have really come on well and are ready to be transplanted into the next stage. I found that 30seconds on 20-40minutes off worked best with the rocks keeping the roots damp between, also helps keep the temp down in the RDWC element.
Having some issues with the AK, seems to get overwatering wilting with every watering I do to run off. Doing nothing different than with the others in coco. Assuming it’s genetic.
Issue again with wilting in RDWC. Last time I took water level down it corrected so trying this again. It’s started to flower at the start of week 4?!??
Middle auto AK is wilting more and more. Info in diary. It can’t be overwatering, it’s in 40/60 perlite/coco in an airpot same treatment as the others. Ph perfect at run off, I’m waiting for drying out to water again. Temp and humidity perfect. You can see the others loving life!
Hey, thanks for the replies. Still having the same issue this morning. I have been waiting for the top of the coco to be lighter coloured and moist but not wet for the first inch of it. Before watering again which is about 1.5days so far but due to growth is around every day now. The EC (I measure in ppm) was 100 higher for the AK when I measured yesterday. I’m abit worried it’s stopped up taking now as it’s getting lighter in colour. I have moved the lights a few inches higher today to see if that has an effect. If not I will go back to watering issues being the cause and do the advised 3 instalments. So frustrating as it’s been a great grow so far and so much work to get the set up dialled in as it is. Thanks all and will keep you updated.
Checked the roots yesterday, no smell, run off ph was 6.2 so no issue there.
Yup, intake brings in outside air constantly at a 20% fan usage minimum have a dual controller. Exhausting via filter. 2 fans moving air inside. Humidifier you can see on the floor in the pics maintains 50-55%. Temps are around 25c. I just dont understand what it can be, same set up, same nutes, using ph perfect so no ph issue. It just suddenly came on a few days ago.
Not very pleased with the AK47 its at week 7 of 10 and the buds are not forming, its been a pain the whole grow in comparison to the Gorilla Cookies which is the best and easiest strain I’ve ever grown. It likes a high feed it seems. The GSC in my prototype RDWC is doing really well. Thick stems, and the best looking foliage, the prototype seems to be working great with a 21L tank and double waterfall circulation. Will be moving to full hydro with another 2 boxes in the cupboard in the next grow and limiting to 3 plants max for the space.
Buds on the Gorilla Cookies are forming and stacking nicely, really looking like its going to be a huge yield. Was expecting a few more sites from the GSC but she still has some time to go in stretch.
I put in some spare CFL bulbs to get me to 65k lumens keeping under 27c in the tent. So keeping the feeding as it is, and I hope its sailing through the 4 more weeks while they fatten up. Looking on track for a week 10 harvest, unsure about the AK47 might be week 11-12 currently.
AK 47 is not an auto so that was binned. But actually it was good because it was far too cramped. 2 plants tops next time.
Added in overdrive as its 2 weeks out from breeders harvest timeline. The GSC really needs to fatten up in these last few weeks, not pleased so far seeing as it is in hydro with perfect ph the whole time. The glue and gorilla cookies are amazing. VERY thirsty averaging 2-3 litres a day of strong 1600 ppm nutes. It’s on a two a day watering cycle now.
terpinator, rezin, overdrive, sumo active boost, nirvana added mid week. I was using bud factor X but it’s now so expensive it’s out of production so switched to terpinator. Ppm is a little high in the hydro but no burn or issues so far. Just a few heat stress curls on leaves. Should end up with very sticky buds with all those added.
Flush week. Girl Scout cookies ready on week 10 on the nose, wanted to have them a little less body high so went with less ambers. Gorilla Glue is ready on the nose of their 10 week, very big and hard. Gorilla Glue got another week at least as hasn’t hardened up yet. Pics to come once I have dry weight of the buds. They have been wet cut.
The buds are spaced out and not as fat or tight as I would have expected. Compared to the two Gorillas the buds are pretty average. The only difference is obviously genes, but these were grown in hydro which was kept on point the whole grow so i was expecting a bit more. Do not think I would grow again as space vs yield just isn’t good enough. Will update post drying and smoking.
First hydro, I am pleased with the set up and have modified for next grow to move to full hydro. I think the plant could have done better but unsure how as everything was spot on, can only think the transplant from seedling in aero to hydro RDWC lost me some weight, so will start them off in the RDWC from the start next time to save any stress. I had some heat issues towards the end of the grow so that needs to be fixed for next time.
@Fast_Buds, hey, having a real problem with the AK47 still, the wilting I think was just down to genes. However its in week 7 and has no buds developing, it has bud sites, no sign of being a herm, but seems to have stalled in creating the buds. In comparison the Gorilla cookies is by far the best growing plant I have ever seen, it started to develop its buds in week 5 and is now in week 6 with tonnes of sites. Same as GSC, but has far fewer sites than the Gorilla Cookies. Not sure what to really do about this AK, and how will it effect the harvesting period if it does eventually start to develop buds? If it is showing nothing in week 7 will it at all? As would rather remove it and give others more space if its going to yield very low? Thanks.
@Acidjj, Sounds like you are doing everything right! However, every plant is different. If she's not as hungry as the other one, just reduce a bit the water amount for her :)
@Fast_Buds, having an issue with AK, it’s been getting the same as the other coco based but it’s consistently wilting from over watering. But how is that possible? 40% perlite 60% coco, in airpot, watering every other day to run off. Ph perfect on run off. Any ideas? Thanks
