WEEK 1 - 23/7/2021 - 30/7/2021 My 6th grow! I've managed to finally build a reliable RDWC system. It has been put on hold for nearly a year now. My primary concern is flooding when I'm not around. Another if there is any blackout affecting the water/air pump.  I've had the system on test run for a week now and it has been fantastic. No leak whatsoever! I'm so glad I decided to go with all PVC pipes and bulkheads rather than using vinyl tubing for the waterfall outlet. So far so good! Can't wait to transplant into the system. :) 20/7/2021 - 2 packs  of Harlequin seeds from Weedseedexpress (5 + 1), 12 seeds soaked in 10ml/L of Nitrozyme for the next 24 hours. 21/7/2021 - All 12 seeds transferred to paper towel and soaked with Nitrozyme and placed in humidity dome. 23/7/2021 - Only 5 out of 12 seeds germinated. But all 12 transplanted to small rockwool cubes, soaked with Nitrozyme mix water then placed in humidity dome. I accidentally cut one of the cotyledon while removing the shell.

Out of 12 seeds only 4 properly germinated and even that is showing issues. I don't have a good feeling about these seed genetics. I'll give another week to see the growth response.

WEEK 2 - 31/7/2021 - 6/8/2021 1/8/2021 - 1L of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 2.5ml/gal - 0.7ml Micro - 2.25ml/gal - 0.6ml Gro - 2.25ml/gal - 0.6ml Bloom - 0.6ml/gal - 0.2ml Rapid start - 1ml/gal - 0.3ml pH - 6.07 EC - 1.03 mS.cm T - 26 The 4 seedlings are still showing signs of growth but the leaves are droopy and has malnutrition issue. I really hope they get back on track with the new nutrient regime. 2/8/2021 - 4 seedlings transplanted to larger 3 x 3 inch rockwool cubes to allow the seedlings to establish its roots first before transplanting to the RDWC system. 6/8/2021 - 2 plants are relatively normal looking but the other 2 looks deformed. I'm quite unhappy with the seed performance thus far. Poor germination rate, inconsistent genetics and weird phenotype. I wonder where Weedseedexpress sourced the Harlequin seeds from.

WEEK 3 - 7/8/2021 - 13/8/2021 7/8/2021 - All 4 seedlings transplanted to the RDWC system. System filled with 35 gallon of water mixed with the following: Liquid Silicon - 0.5ml/gal - 18ml Cal-Mag - 2.5ml/gal - 88ml Micro - 2.25ml/gal - 80ml Gro - 2.5ml/gal - 88ml Bloom - 0.6ml/gal - 21ml Hydroguard - 2ml/gal - 70ml pH - 6.10 EC - 0.84mS/cm T - 25 10/8/2021 - Sigh... The girls are not doing so good. all the leaves are droopy like its over watered. So from my understanding, it could be a few things. Trauma from the transplant, low EC or maybe genetics. I decided to try to increase the EC first since 0.8 is on the low side. Added appropriate ratio of micro, gro and bloom to bring the EC up to 0.94 and pH 5.98. Let's see if this can help the situation. 12/8/2021 - Well..the plants look worse now. The two slow growers have managed to catch up and looks relatively healthy despite their irregular leaves. But the other two are still droopy. They are still growing. I thought of doing a complete res change and ensure the correct ratio between the nutrients but that's 35 gallons of water and nute wasted again. Screw that. I did a top feeding of Nitrozyme (0.5ml/L) for all 4 plants. Perhaps it can help the roots to establish itself faster.

Still a little droopy but they are growing. And the roots have started coming out of the the 6 inch net pot. Things are looking great! Plant 1,2 and 4 topped to the 3rd node and the bottom 2 nodes and leaves cleared. Plant 3 topped to the 2nd node as the internodal distance is far. I wonder if it matters if topping has to be done after the third node. So the first mainlining step has begun!

WEEK 5 - 21/8/2021 - 27/8/2021 27/8/2021 - Well... Nothing much to report this week. One of the biggest advantage of RDWC is the res change/top-up. Haven't done any in 2 weeks now.🙂 The plants are doing OK. Not great but OK. Still a little droopy but growing. A little slow after the topping last week. The following is the reservoir status after 2 weeks on mixing in the nutrients: pH - 6.04 EC - 1.04 mS/cm T - 23.5 Water level - 25 gallon mark, so 5 gallons consumption in 14 days.

WEEK 6 - 28/8/2021 - 3/9/2021 30/8/2021 - Plant 3 leaves droopiness level has gotten worse after topping for the second time. But the new nodes are growing and appears healthy. I think it should get back on track in few days time as there will not be anymore high stress training anytime soon. 31/8/2021 - 5 gallons of water topped up mixed with the following (1/2 of the previous dose): Si - 0.5ml/gal - 2.5ml Cal Mag - 1.5ml/gal - 7.5ml Micro - 1.5ml/gal - 7.5ml Gro - 1.75ml/gal - 9ml Bloom - 0.6ml/gal - 3ml pH - 6.04 EC - 1.04 mS/cm T - 23.5 3/9/2021 - The EC went down to 0.8 in 2 days so I decided to do a complete res change. 30 gallons of water mixed with the following: Liquid Silicon - 1ml/gal - 30ml Cal-Mag - 3ml/gal - 90ml Micro - 3.5ml/gal - 105ml Gro - 4.5ml/gal - 135ml Bloom - 1.5ml/gal - 45ml Hydroguard - 2ml/gal - 60ml pH - 6.21 EC - 1.26 mS/cm T - 23.9 All the plants LST readjusted. Plant 3 looks like it's finally on the right track. 9/9/2021 - 5 gallons of water topped up mixed with the following (I decided to use the same dose instead of decreasing to 1/2 or 1/4 dose to bring up the EC): Liquid Silicon - 1ml/gal - 5ml Cal-Mag - 3ml/gal - 15ml Micro - 3.5ml/gal - 18ml Gro - 4.5ml/gal - 23ml Bloom - 1.5ml/gal - 7.5ml Hydroguard - 2ml/gal - 10ml pH - 6.18 EC - 1.08 T - 23 10/9/2021 - The plants are responding well with the water top up. The pH is decreasing by 0.1-0.2 every day. Did another major defoliation today and LST readjusted for all 4 plants.

Canopy level readjusted. Plant 4 is still small compared to the others though. This week has been pretty smooth without any issues. All 4 plants are  full on veg mode. I'm hoping the plants would show rapid rate of recovery as I'm planning to flip in 3 days time. I'll be doing the 36 hours of darkness before flipping to 12/12.

WEEK 9 - 18/9/2021 - 24/9/2021 19/9/2021 - All 4 plants are responding well to the major HST last week. I wanted to start the 36 hours of darkness tomorrow  but I think I will start tonight instead. So at 0000 (20/9/2021) light off, turn back on 1200 ( 21/9/2021).  I topped up with 5 gallons of water mixed with the following: Liquid Silicon - 1ml/gal - 5ml Cal-Mag - 3ml/gal -15ml Micro - 3.5ml/gal - 17.5ml Gro - 3.5ml/gal - 17.5ml Bloom - 2.5ml/gal - 12.5ml pH - 6.17 EC - 1.02 mS/cm T - 24 21/9/2021 - The lights are back on today at 12pm and the girls are looking good. So this is the first day of flowering. The first 3 plants are so much taller than plant 4. So I decided to scrog after all. Im certain they'll stretch like crazy the next 3 weeks. The net will help to keep the canopy even and allow plant 4 to catch up. It will also help to hold the bud weight later close to harvest. It going to be harder to open the liNow I really hope the root do not clog the return pipe. Plant 1 roots are especially huge. Built my own scrog net with PVC pipe as the frame and plant twisty ties as the net. Turned out great! Used zipper ties to hold the net to the tent frame. Quite sturdy and holds down the branches well. 23/9/2021 - I'll be away for the next 3 days and decided to do another res top up. 5 gallons of water mixed with the following: Liquid Silicon - 1ml/gal - 5ml Cal-Mag - 3ml/gal -15ml Micro - 3.5ml/gal - 17.5ml Gro - 3.5ml/gal - 17.5ml Bloom - 2.5ml/gal - 12.5ml pH - 6.15 EC - 0.99 mS/cm T - 24 All 4 plants are responding well after installing the scrog net. Plant 4 still has a bit of catching up to do though.

WEEK 10 - 25/9/2021 - 1/10/2021 30/9/2021 - No major issues these past week. Plant 1,2 and 3 responding really well to scrogging. The original purpose of the net was to support the buds actually. But since the net is in place, I thought it would make more sense  to use the opportunity to bring the 3 plants to the same level as plant 4. Despite that, plant 4 still has trouble catching up and plant 1-3 just stretched like crazy. Plant 1-3 have started flowering and stretching. Not plant 4 though. No signs of stigmas yet. Weird genetics. Been having issues since germination. Major defoliation done for all plants. Sucker branches removed and LST readjusted. Complete res change done. 30 gallons of water mixed with the following: Liquid Silicon - 1ml/gal - 30ml Cal-Mag - 2.5ml/gal - 75ml Micro - 3.5ml/gal - 105ml Gro - 2.5ml/gal - 75ml Bloom - 3.5ml/gal - 105ml Hydroguard - 2ml/gal - 60ml pH - 6.12 EC - 1.21 mS/cm T - 24.5

This one plant has been having issues since germination with strange leaf growth. While the other 3 plants have started flowering, this one plant still remains in veg state and very small in size. Is this a dud caused by some plant viral infection? Should I remove this plant?

Ola amigo tudo bem ?

The other 3 plants are in their 4th week of flowering while the deformed one is still vegetating. I'll be changing to mid bloom nute regime soon and it wont be suitable for veg plants anyways. Plus I'll be wasting the nutrients on it. Oh well... At least it was a good learning experience. I really thought it was some plant viral infection and was quite worried about it infecting the healthy plants. Didn't get much response from forums, so I actually asked Lex Blazer (the Youtuber) about it. He thinks its a type of abnormal growth is caused by a rare mutation and it's not some viral infection. 11/10/2021 - I changed the light to Migro Aray 8 since the stretching has stopped. 15/10/2021 - Minor defoliation done.

During the res change, I noticed the roots from plant 3 has extended to plants 4's container. I really hope the roots don't block the return line. 20/10/2021 - All 3 plants leaf tips appear droopy. I think it could be due to fluctuations to the pH. Since complete res change, the plants are not drinking as much and pH goes down drastically. I cant really pinpoint whats the cause. After adjusting the ph to 6.0 . The next day it goes down to 5.5 . I might need to do a complete res change in few days. Minor defoliation done.

WEEK 14 - 23/10/2021 - 29/10/2021 27/10/21 - Leaves on plant 2 and 3 especially seem droopy and clawing in. I've been noticing this since last week. Also they are dark green. There could also be micronutrient deficiency like manganese. I'm thinking nitrogen toxicity leading to micronutrient lockout. I should have taken out Gro from last week's res mix. I'll be doing a complete nutrient res change tomorrow and hope the symptoms would improve. 28/10/2021 - Complete res change done. 30 gallons of water mixed with the following: Liquid Silicon - 1ml/gal - 30ml Cal-Mag - 2.5ml/gal - 75ml Micro - 4ml/gal - 120ml Bloom - 7ml/gal - 210ml Hydroguard - 2ml/gal - 60ml pH - 6.12 EC - 1.21 mS/cm T - 24.0 The buds are getting thicker and trichomes are more prominent. WEEK 15 - 30/10/2021 - 5/11/2021 1/11/2021 - they are not drinking much, ec is static and the pH is decreasing drastically. I have to bring the pH up to 6 and the next day it goes down to 5.4. I thought it could be due to the second air pump causing high co2 in the res which lead to acidity. I turned off of the air pump and yet they are not improving much. I think I might need to do a flush before doing a complete res change. Sigh... 3/11/2021 - the buds look about the same and not much bulking up. And the branches especially on plant 1 look shrunken and dehydrated. So the plants are leeching out water! Never seen a dehydrated branch before. But why? There is no reason for it to do so. The EC is within acceptable range for late flowering plants. I do fresh res mix weekly. The nutrient element ratio is also within the recommended range. So why?? Flushing seems like a good idea now. I'll be flushing with Florakleen for 24 hours before mixing in a new batch of nute. I mixed 15 gallons of water with 170ml of flora kleen. ph at 6.13 and ec at 0.06. 4/11/2021 - 25 gallons of water mixed with the following: Cal-Mag - 2.5ml/gal - 63ml Micro - 2ml/gal - 50ml Bloom - 7ml/gal - 175ml Hydroguard - 2ml/gal - 50ml pH - 6.12 EC - 0.88 mS/cm T - 24.0

WEEK 16 - 6/11/2021 - 12/11/2021 9/11/2021 - Trichomes for plant 2 and 3 shows about 10% amber. Plant 1 is mostly cloudy. I wanted to delay harvest by 2 weeks initially but I dont want the effects to be to heavy. So I think I'll start Ripen in 2 days. That will run for 10 days, the 2 days of Kleen and harvest! 11/11/2021 - 20 gallons of water mixed with 5ml/L of Flora Ripen = 380ml. pH - 5.8, EC - 1.67, T - 24.5

WEEK 17 - 13/11/2021 - 19/11/2021 19/11/2021 - Trichomes inspection showed more amber trichomes and others mostly cloudy. Plant 1 is lacking trichomes compared to the other two. Inconsistent phenotype from the beginning and nutrient sensitive. Not forgetting a plant turned out to be a dud. Eager to get this over with and start the next grow.

WEEK 18 - 20/11/2021 - 26/11/2021 23/11/2021 ( Day 123)- Harvest day! All the plants cut at the base and hung upside down whole plant in the same grow tent. I wanted to go with wet trim but just didn't have the time to do it the same day. Maybe I'll trim gradually as they are drying. 3/12/2021 - After drying for 10 days, the small branches break without bending. The buds are loose and airy especially plant 1 as expected. Plant 1 total dry weight is 73g, Plant 2 and 3 225g. Total dry weight for 3 plants is 298g. An average of 100g per plant. Not too bad of a yield but still could have been more and better quality buds.
