Zamnesia Runtz! DWC

hey hey growmies. Week 1 went well, not much to add here other than my first rodeo with Kratky seems to be turning out ok, I am a bit worried with how fast these roots grow. I might have to move to a bigger container sooner than I hope. Lower leaves are pretty much goners from transplant shock, its ok, she'll recover and get used to her new grow environment. LST will probably start next week, I'm considering not topping this Runtz lady, I will have the space for her to grow tall as the Flower tent will be available in a couple weeks at most. Hey hey growmies! another longer week, as I wanted to show these girls bouncing back from some problems I ran into with my Kratky experiment. about halfway through the week my plants started drooping and showing signs of overwatering, my guess is either the plant outgrew her air roots or the reservoir was too hot, inhibiting the plants ability to take up oxygen. either way, a quick peek at the roots showed some very healthy looking noodles, so I decided to not take any chances and come up with a solution that would solve both those problems. I took a 3 litre container, put a coat of primer and black paint on it to keep light out, then a layer of plumbers tape to bounce some of the grow lights off of the container, theoretically keeping the heat out, some other things I could have done was paint it white, or put some wall insulation around it. I could have also kept my jars and tried some troubleshooting, fill them less and more often. but I am happy with the roots created by Kratky, that's the nice thing about that system, it forces the roots to grow more horizontally, the roots have now created a sturdy foundation for low stress training and are perfect for placing into DWC. so that's what I did, I added a tiny pump and air stone, and for now both plants will sit in this tiny container, The Runtz will be moved to the tent as soon as possible, hopefully before these girl's roots get entangled, If that does happen, I will have to trim back some of the Runtz roots, I don't want to hurt the autoflower. now you've likely wondered what is up with the host of deficiencies the plants are showing, honestly that's just neglect on my part. I can tell there's damage from overwatering, pH fluctuations and even some lockouts. I am more on top of it now, the pH is more stable, the plants are getting oxygen and will recover plenty before flower. Plus I get to show off how hardy ruderalis is, look at the auto-flower compared to the photo period, she barely cares about the high temps, pH fluctuations all she appears to want is more food, so I have increased the ec to 1 ms, but most importantly, ill keep the pH in a range where they can actually take up the nutrients now That's it for now Growmies, Thanks for checking out my diary. Hey hey growmies Week 3 went by without a hitch, however I transplanted a bit late, cause the roots of the plants to tangle, I had to snap a few roots, mainly the one from the Runtz pheno, she's a photoflower and will recover, the Wedding cake is already in pre-flower, so harming those roots would damage harvest. this is also the last week these plants will share the spotlight, they are now officially seperated from eachother. check back next week, ill go over my end goal of both diaries. Hey hey growmies! This is the Runtz first week separated from her Autoflowering sister. I absolutely destroyed this girl, she's going to need some TLC after this week. Let me explain the original plan was to only LST this plant, that's not going to happen, after her transplant to RDWC I was tying her down, and snapped her main stem. I'm still looking for a mommy plant, and this strain is one of my favourite smokes, if I can nurse this plant back to health after all the stuff she went trough this week, without her herming out on me, then thats p good. so that's the plan for this diary, I'm viewing this week as a stress test, the following weeks will be fixing her canopy and getting her ready for flower, for now the time-lapse will remain on the auto flower, check out that diary, too! Hey hey growmies! I've fallen ill with a respiratory bug, as a result my plants and the diaries have suffered somewhat. at the end of week 4 I left this diary with a super droopy plant, now, this little runtz lady has not only bounced back, but is thriving. I am leaving on a trip to New York in 2 and a half weeks, which leaves this lady in an awkward spot, I cannot flip her to flower and she's growing fiercely, I can obviously also not bring her from Belgium to the United States of America (Even though New York is a legal state :P) because Ganja is the devil in the eyes of our governments, as we all know. So she will continue to veg untill I get back the 25th of november, a whole ass month from now. This Runtz will be anything but a runt, but she has shown me some very strong genetic traits already, she takes a fucking beating this strain. So if her smoke is decent, and her flowers pretty, I'm keeping her around. Its always nice if a plant is tough enough to roll with the punches, and look at her, she's rolling. So thats the plan! Veg her out into a monster, take lots of cuttings and clean up her canopy. Hope we have mommy material, if not, I'm still going to try and grow a cutting from her, its a skill I need to build for when I do find a mom. Hey hey growmies! First of all, I apologize for the massive gap in this Diary! I flipped this plant into flower and left my country to visit my Girlfriend in the USA for the weeks leading up to thanksgiving. The plant was left completely alone, to do it's stretching by itself, when I came home from my trip I was anxious to inspect the damage, but as you can see from some of the pictures I included, aside from an overgrown garden, I came back to a wonderful little weed plant That's another nice thing about Hydro, theres like 50 liters of water for this single plant, aside from trimming and removing leaves, garden maintenance is extremely low. Obviously, because I flipped to flower right before leaving {The original plan was to veg until I came back, so happy I didn't look at her thick stem} I wasn't able to do a lot of training during her stretch, thankfully, this plant is stout and didn't shoot up far. If you are wondering why the petioles are bright red, that usually happens to me, I think it's the finisher I use, it induces drought stress. I will try to fill the missing weeks with some pictures I took before I took off to New York. I had a great time visiting the USA and the Cali strains there I will miss oh so dearly, I will have to find my girls favorite strain, Black Diamond Kush, we ordered so much hoping for seeds, but cali farms are quick on their nanners. Heya Growmies! Smooth sailing, I have covid coming back from my trip and cannot smell a thing, which is really unfortunate because this lady Looks like she's smelly. I have been defoliating, taking off some fan leaves every day, boy is she sticky, it looks like this lady might be my first harvest in 2022 and I'm very hopeful when it comes to yield, every day I open this tent, those flowers are bigger. this is my mot even canopy yet, I am very happy. Week 7 of flower, we still have barely any oxidized pistil, and she's still drinking a lot of water, Im putting her chop date somewhere in Jan 2022 She smells so flowery and sweet and slightly stings your nostrils, if you blindfolded me I don't think I would be able to tell it was weed. If she throws colours during her flush in a few weeks, I will monster crop her to preserve her genetics, because I think that this is the stickiest flowers I've grown yet If You know a reputable vendor for Black Diamond Kush, hit me the fuck up.
