These little babies don't look how plush and green I'm used to at the early stage. I suspect light damage? Heat is not an issue but I guess LEDs can be too powerful for such young plants? I've always used MH or T5 HO bulbs and never had this issue. I figured the more light the better. I've moved the light from 18 inches at 55% to 30 inches at 75% in hopes the fresh growth looks better. They had their last week 1 feeding yesterday (10/2) so will get just water in the next day or so when things dry up. Cups weren't draining excess water too well I noticed as well, so got then up on a screen to avoid puddling or blocking of the drainage holes I drilled into them. Bummed a little at this point but it's early enough to hopefully identify if light stress is an accurate diagnosis and the plants can start to flourish at a young age.

Ideas on why these leaves are curling downward and seem almost "shriveled"?Soil has been wet/moist consistently and heat hasn't really gone above 78F. They are in ocean forest soil getting a suggested nute dosage can't imagine its deficient at this stage. Light or wind stress?

Hi there Domaintraveler, i gotta disagree with my growmie odrex on this one, the seedlings cant be rootbound at this stage : they're just too small. What happened is that there was overwatering that caused root issues. So it's really easy to overwater seedlings like that because the plant doesnt really need more than a few mL like 25-50mL max at this stage. if you give it more it's usually fine but it can lead to problems like what you have now. So basically the moisture is a breeding ground for "water mold" and this you need to fix by a longer dry period. usually the mold will disappear by itself and the plant will recover, but if it doesnt what you need to do is fix the root zone. This you can do by using additives like beneficial bacteria which take a while to fix things or humic and fluvic acid which will break down the problem roots and regulate the medium quite well. Hope this helps ! 🚀

What is up with some of my leaves? Yellow edges. A brown spotting as well. Deficiency? Abundance? Help is appreciated 🙏

Hello this yellowing is caused by your leaves touching the soil so just remove soil under these leaves or cut them to not have this problem again. So don't worry too much it will be fine. Good luck. Bye

Start of week 4 Veg. Continued LST under the lowest tomato cage loop. Smells are getting interesting when they are agitated: Gigabud- citrusy like lemon and oranges Purple diesel - Dank Blue cheese - Skunk from those cheesy genes! Northern lights is a day by day experiment at this point. Maybe clone if it gets healthy enough to take one. Or maybe just take it into flower and hash out whatever it decided to produce or not produce lol.

GUYS! I ordered a Mars Hydro FC4800 and a 2nd 4x4x6.5ft tent today. I'll probably use it as my Flowering tent. I'm stoked. Plants got 2nd and final week 3 Veg nute dose today. I was about 15 feet from my tent today and caught some whiffs of warm little weed plants. Think I'll be popping my carbon filter on in the next week or so.

Half way through 2nd week of Veg. Transplants seem to have gone well from solo to 5 gal for the PD, BC, and GB plants. Oreo bagseed will probably get transplanted to 5 gal with the next normal watering tomorrow. Northern Light looks like if it survives it will be a weirdo so I'll just let it ride and see what happens. Growth all seems real tight and minimal stretch. Going to kick the ts3000 down to 75% to see if they stretch a little more so I can start lst by end of week 3 hopefully 🙏

My LST on the 3 plants with tomato cages is really continuing to have great results. I'm starting to train them "around" the bottom loop of the cages now that they have the size to do so. I've never tried this before but read about it and wanted to give it a go. Plants look nice and green so although I was planning to feed yesterday I just gave them their biggest plain watering they have had yet. Will feed tomorrow their first week 4 nutes. The northern lights is the healthiest it's looked so far which isn't saying much but there might just be a hope for something to come from it. 🤷‍♂️

Second tent and exhaust kit came in today. Of course the FC4800 is like 4 days behind 🙄. I'm guessing by the time it comes in I'll be almost ready to throw these into flower. Original plan was to spend 6-8 weeks in Veg but realistically that's how long my next set of strains will run since they are in germination now and will stay in the Veg tent until the current Veg is done or almost done Flowering. Or at least that's the plan for now!

To help with the soil wetness I also powered off the exhaust fan and now my temp is just above 80 which seems more ideal at this stage. I tossed my t5 light into the mix today as well. Figure it can't hurt but I guess I'll find out if I'm wrong lol

The solo cups were working against me in terms of airflow for the roots even with the holes I drilled in. The suggestion that the roots were too wet for too long seems likely the case after analyzing the soil and seeing it was still pretty wet even after 2 days of not watering. Additional research seems to suggest the cloth buckets for drainage and airflow to roots among other benefits listed on the label. I snagged up 5 of those and some more ocean forest today. The blue cheese, purple diesel, and gigabud all had leaves past the side of the solo cup and roots creeping out the drainage holes. I felt that combined with the wet soil issue was a good enough reason to transplant at least those 3 today. A little sooner than planned but given the situation it seemed like the best bet to move forward. They went into 5 gal which is usually bigger than I'd go this early but I've seen some diaries where it didn't hurt, assuming you are mindful where to water! :) pics soon and if these 3 take to the transplant fairly well I will likely use the same metric for determining when to transplant the bizzare NL baby and the oreo bagseed which are both a bit smaller still.

Everything besides the bagseed is showing green. All 4 t5 bulbs in now and lights lowered nice and close! Bagseed will probably break Soil and show green within 12 hours if not sooner. Will give everything a couple of days to develop under the t5s a bit before going under the ts3000. Fox farm nute guide says to give seedlings and 1 week Veg a very low 6tsp/gal H20 of Big Bloom. But I've found Ocean Forest soil to be so rich that usually the first few leaves can be developed before really needing extra nutes. The feeding guide does acknowledge the seedlings should be in ocean forest which I never realized I guess. So maybe I'll give them a dose at week 1 of Veg which I've normally skipped. I've always feared salt build-up after a rookie mistake years ago but I also never actually looked the Fox Farms feed guide 😅. Cheers

Northern lights cracked and is in soil. 100% germ rate on intended seeds. Woo-hoo. Not sure if that bagseed is going to do much but it's about twice the size of the seeds that were germed thus far. Will give it a couple more days. I suspect Gigabud may poke its head above soil within the next 12 hours based on observations made thus far. No indication yet on the other 3 breaking soil that soon.

Gigabud has broken soil. Man I know it's early but I think I'll be fighting to keep this one as low as the others for a somewhat even canopy down the road. Guess I shouldn't be surprised. Blue cheese will have its head above soil today it looks like too. Lastly, the Oreo bagseed has germed! Will update pics shortly.

Purple Diesel and Blue Cheese cracked by the 48 hour mark. Dropped into soil. Just waiting on Norther Lights to crack. Looks bright green and healthy still.

Still no clear cracks in Northern Lights. Maybe needs more time. Maybe a dud despite looking healthy. Time shall tell. However I pulled a seed out of some flower from a friend he said was "Oreo". Figure I'll try to pop it and see what happens!

24 hour germination update: All 4 seeds have a "bursting at the seams" look to them but no clear cracks yet. Will check again in 12-24 more hours.

No surprise, Gigabud with those Big Bud genes is in the lead. Nice little white tail a good quarter inch out of the shell. Dropped it into a red Solo cup with some water and fox farm ocean forest at 4:20pm 😅 was a funny coincidence when I realized it. I'd guess by tomorrow morning at least blue cheese will be doing the same. The northern lights and purple diesel seem the slowest so far but of course we are just a day in :). More updates when it's worth it.

@CRiSPrGrow, hahaha that is insane! Good to know too I've! I've heard good things about the TS3000 so hopefully I'm at least as happy with the Yield as I was under a good old 400w MH/HPS. If not I'll just go back next time around and use the ts3000 for supplemental lighting.

@domaintraveler, lmfao for real though ! by the way the LEDs i use will put out just about as much heat and use up as much electricity if not more than an HPS but the light will pierce through a human to the mf bone lol. I've seen and set up many commercial set ups, and i'll tell you what : the biggest and most profitable set ups still use the good ol' MH+HPS set up... 😅

@CRiSPrGrow, crazy how much less heat these LED's put out than MH. Technology has really caught up in my time out of the game haha.
