This is my 12th grow on growdiaries and I'm going to run it similar to my last grow. I am also running a Time-lapse which I will do at the end. So there are 4 different strains which will have a diary each.
The strains are all tester seeds so I don't have any information on them.
I have been looking for a new light for this grow and have gone with the Viparspectra XS2000, this is probably the limit my main tent could take so I may have to upgrade my extractor fan. The light is temporarily setup finishing of a plant in the main tent and so far temps seem good.
For germination I soak the seed in water for 24hr before placing into a rockwool cube that's been soaked for 20 mins in ph 5.8 water with hydroguard at 0.5ml/L. Then placed in propergation dome under my small T5 lights in the secret jardin dp60. I keep the lights on until they emerge, some people like leaving in darkness, I like them getting light straight away.
31/10/21 Sunday started soaking seed in 50ml water.
1/11/21 Monday soaked rockwool for 20 mins (0.5ml/L hydroguard) in 150ml Ec 0.193 PH 6.1
3/11/21 Wednesday she's above ground but shell still on so wet shell to help soften it up.
4/11/21 Thursday helped the shell come off. This is day 0 of the grow.
Thanks to Fastbuds for sending me the testers.
Thanks to anyone who stops by to read or follow. Comments are welcome.
Hopefully back with an update in a week.
So this week was a fairly standard 1st week growing.
5/11/21 Friday. 100ml Ec .194 Ph 5.5
Run 100ml Ec .349 Ph 6.4
8/11/21 Monday. 50ml Ec .215 Ph 5.8
Run 40ml Ec .285 Ph 6.4
11/11/21 Thurs. 50ml Ec .215 Ph 5.8
Run 40ml Ec .330 Ph 6.3
Then transplanted into 3 inch cube soaked in 400ml Ec .370 Ph 5.9
Plan for next week is to get the main tent sorted. Busy week.
Week 2 on the grow seemed to go OK. FBT2201 looks o.k. Day 12 she got a feed of Ec 0.4 PH 5.6 and the run off was high Ec 0.7 PH 7.4, despite that she seems OK and the plan is to get her under the Viparspectra xs2000 next week.
That was the plan, as I'm already half way through week 3 I know what the outcome is.
Rather then abandon the diary's for this grow I'm starting a fresh seed of each tester except 2204 as I have ran out of them. When the replacements hit 3 weeks I'll update each of these diaries with the progress up to week 3.
Shame really as upto day 15 she looked o.k.
FBT 2201 the replacement. Something went wrong before and the grow needed restarting. I had 2 seeds left and one of them didn't germinate but at least one did so I can continue this diary. I have put pictures in this week's slot of the replacement FBT2201 from start to end of week 3. So far she has done OK. The conditions for the 1st week wasn't the best as humidifier had broken but once I got that replaced she started coming on nicely. I don't normally like putting plants straight under a LED so I put it under on day 3 with the light 29 inch away on 50% power. She was getting around 200 umol from the light. On day 19 the light has been turned up to 62% and she is now getting 300 umol. I'm really impressed with this light so far, I have germinated the other replacements after this and put them straight under it. For the 1st 2 weeks she was on the previous weeks feeds and this week she has been on the above.
Hopefully will be back in a weeks time with a update.
Take it easy.
This tester is doing quite well. Not had any problems really, a few blemishes on some leaves but that's probably because I gave them a few sprays with a cal mag solution and the light may have been magnified. Looks more like that then actual cal mag problem. I lowered the light 7 cm on day 26 so she is getting about 24dli. Normally I would be training them by now but I'm going hold off a little longer. Hopefully back in a week.
Take it easy.
FBT 2201 has started flowering this week. The system has been flushed twice this week as I'm sure there is a ph problem with one of the plants. This one hasn't had to many problems as off yet, she is still quite short and I'm expecting that to change in the next few days, hopefully I haven't messed this one up flushing it with the others. Next week I'm switching over to bloom formula. The Viparspectra xs2000 is back onto 62.5% because anything above that really starts to lift the temps up, so I have lowered the light a bit more and the plant is now getting a ppfd of 370 and DLI of 32.
Hopefully back in a week with some good progress.
Take it easy.
This week tester 2201 has continued into flower. Since I changed from a flood dripper to my drip ring she has looked a bit better. I'm thinking the problem with the flood dripper is the small area it waters, and due to this the ph in the medium isn't very stable, since Changing it the ph has been spot on. Early on in the week outside temps Rose a bit and I had to turn the power on the Viparspectra xs2000 from 62% to 50% and lowered the light so she was still getting the same ppfd. The early problems with ph have really hurt this one. I don't think she will stretch much more so I have bent over the main cola to let more light hit the lower buds.
Hopefully back in a week.
Take it easy.
As I thought last week this tester has been stunted by me. I removed a few leaves early on in the week just to try and get as much light as possible to the lowest growth. She is still coming on but she won't be a big harvest. She has still been under the Viparspectra xs2000 on 50% giving the plant about 350 ppfd. What a shame I stunted her.
Hopefully back in a week.
Take it easy.
Week 8 went without any real issues. Removing 2 leaves last week has helped the lower parts get some more light. Checked my notes from when I germinated and it looks like I forgot to ph this and tester 2203 rockwool cubes. That's possibly how I stunted them both. She has still been getting around 350ppfd from the Viparspectra xs2000 on 50% power. I think I'll be reducing the N next week by dropping the cal mag supplement and I'll increase the P and K a bit.
Hopefully back in a week.
Take it easy.
This week tester 2201 has started bulking on the flower and putting out a few orange pistils, also she is starting to cloud up on the trichomes. Even though she is stunted I think I'm going to get more off her then I originally thought. She had still been getting 350ppfd from the Viparspectra xs2000 on 50% power. I was planning out my next grow and I realised I still have 1 more seed of this strain so I'm tempted to have another go straight away.
Hopefully back in a week.
Take it easy.
FBT 2201 is the second one in the grow to hit 70 days. She spent most of the week putting a bit more weight on. I can't pick out the smell of this one as a different strains smell is taking over the tent. She has been getting 400 ppfd this week from the Viparspectra xs2000 on 50% power. Major drawback to this system is I can't lift the pots up closer to the light with the shorter plants.
Hopefully back in a week.
Take it easy.
FBT2201 has continued swelling and pistils shrinking this week so I have checked the trichomes and she is about 90% cloudy and 10% clear. She has still been getting 400ppfd from the Viparspectra xs2000 on 50% power. Going into next week I'll be disconnecting her from the wilma system and be feeding her ripen manually along with FBT2203 which has been on ripen for a few days.
Hopefully back in a week.
Take it easy.
FBT2201 has been on ripen this week. She is 100% cloudy with the trichomes and I'm fairly confident she has swelled as much as she is going to. So next week I'll flush her along with the other tester and hopefully harvest next weekend. She has still been getting the same light conditions as last week.
Hopefully back in a week with a harvest entry with wet weight etc.
Take it easy.
FBT2201 has been flushed all week and is looking done. Not sure what smell she is pumping out at the moment. She reminds me a little of girl scout cookies. I'm going to harvest on day 92 as that's weekend and I'll do FBT2203 at the same time. My 2 little stunted plants. Next update will be harvest part 1.
Back soon.
Take it easy.
FBT2201 went from seed to harvest in 92 days. Unfortunately due to my eagerness to get this grow going I didn't ph my media properly and the result was a few stunted plants with this being one of them. I can definitely see the potential this plant would have if it was grown properly. What it did manage to do was throw out some fairly solid nugs covered in trichomes. Possibly got gorilla glue in her genetics. When I have finished drying and curing I'll pop back with the smoke report.
This is the 2nd or 3rd grow with the wilma system with just clay balls. It's most likely going to be my last grow with just clay balls as I don't seem to be able to get the ph correct before I start and with a bad start with autoflowers it's a up hill battle from then on.
With the plant being so stunted she didn't take long to trim.
A big thank you to Fastbuds for giving me the opportunity to try out these strains. Sorry the grow didn't go as well as I would have hoped for. Because of that it didn't really give the genetics opportunity to shine. At least they made it through to the end.
Nice diary! Thanks for the advice I appreciate it. The lights I like so much seem to be your favorite as well the Viperspectras. I picked them out of all the choices on Amazon. My very first grow was one of the best I have ever burned. On my third and trying Hydro. It has become a very peaceful Pastime in more ways than one!
@FelandS, cheers dude. 1st grow with this light and can already tell its a good light. Hydro is a good way to go, I find it easier then soil. As far as a pass time its such a good hobby.
Always feel intimidated growing in clay. I’m too much of a noob! But definitely gonna use your diaries for reference when the time comes! The charts are 🔥
Man what are those. Smallest autos I ever seen.. no offense but you spent way too much to yield nothing . Come see my grow at 60 days . I can teach you some tricks buddy ,. This grow wasn't worth the nutrients or hydro.. and you have an X's light? ? I'm confused .. you should be getting a lbs per harvest with that light and good nutes and genetics . . I almost don't beleive what I'm seeing. Is this real ?
@@Jhindlehydro, no offence taken. Dwc is probably my favourite system. I try and let ph drift from 5.8 to 6.2 when I use them systems. The system I'm using now I'm not to keen on, 11L each of clay balls. I'm probably going back to dwc if next grow this way fucks up. Good look with your future grows. This is a good site to record your grows on.
Ok well your quality looks good
you learn something with every grow small and big lessons . I don't bother with the ph of soil or coco but dwc I start at 5.8 and maybe slight ph drift up if I leave for a few days . . Sry if I came off rude I've been growing for 15 years now and few inside so I just try to help anyone in anyways I can if they are open to it .. cheers man. Good luck on all your future grows brotha . If you need any advice I'm here .
Currently doing my first diarie as we speak! Cheers
@@Jhindlehydro, hi there mate. 3 out the 4 plants I forgot to ph the media on. So instead of being around 6.0ph it was closer to 8.0ph due to this and the time it took me to realise my mistake the plants where already stunted. Its one of them where you end up kicking yourself for messing up at the very beginning.
@Hashy, ah! I stopped using those inaccurate pens after my first grow. The chemical test tube from GHE works well, I keep my DWC chemically tested at a 6.0 for most of the entire grow. Throw those pens away and use actual chemical, or paper test, the results are always accurate without having to calibrate anything.
@SwissKush, that grow I think I soaked the cubes in ph 5.0 water for 12hrs before shaking some water out. Then I check the water after removing the cubes to see what the ph has risen to. It was only after a week when I checked my fresh water for a new change, normally my water is ph 6.8-7.0 but pen said it was ph 5. That instantly made me realise I hadn't checked my ph pen for a while. It was well off, ended up with a new pen as the old one kept changing. So it's all my fault for not double checking shit over. Got a fresh grow going in soil because I knew that grow was going be a bust. Doing one more in soil before going back to the rockwool. But I will be checking everything out properly as that mistake early on cost me. Thanks mate, at least it's not just me that's messed up with rockwool.👍
@Hashy, I find Root Riots to be better than the large rockwool cubes, but when I use the rockwool I always soak in PH acid water, and also water the top of the smallest rockwool (tiny) I can find with PH 5 water.. you will have to change your buckets plain water the first week, but 2nd week you will have root in the pool. I put dry seed in cubes to germinate, always up in 5-6 days. (:
