Hey there growmies! I hope you all had a fantastic week, we are back with another update and I am both excited as well as sorry to say, I think this may be one of our last for this fastbuds run.
I would also like to make a quick correction, there was an error in last weeks journal, this past week we have just been feeding these ladies some water- I was using that mix that I had noted for my photo period plant I have going but these, these I had actually just been slowly trying to flush the last week.
So this weekend we had a celebration and were out of town so I had been manually (and remotely) to watering them this weekend. It’s still cold where I am and we had a couple snow squalls but no power outages this time which was excellent!
I DiD decide to leave the heat on (electric heater) which during the day, puts us around 80-81 but at night keeps us right around 66- if I didn’t have that on, the temperature swings would be even higher and the temperature would get dangerously close or even below freezing (which I do NOT want to do again)
Now admittedly when I got back, I was not in a frenzy per say, but I intended on taking pictures of them before taking em down and that didn’t happen… we had just gotten home from a trip and had a bunch of stuff to do before having company just a couple hours later- so while the girls still came first, it was a bit rushed and I totally forgot to take pictures before giving them the ol chop and hang.
I am extremely excited to be in this stage of the game with them, the scents coming off those were AMAZING and I CANNOT wait to get into them (still have some more waiting to do but this is what I consider to be the home stretch, dry/cure)
Now the plants were a bit dense and I cut them into maybe three or four sections each before I hung them, to avoid any p.m. or bud rot issues(which would be devastating at this point)
Right now everything has been hanging since Sunday and let me tell you, when I check them to make sure our temp and humidity are okay (so far it’s been staying at 60 to 61F and right around 51% rh) the smell that hits you when you open the door is nothing short of pure joy… I am getting fruity notes, I am getting floral notes and as it’s all hanging together, I have no idea what scent is coming from which plant but I will be getting up close and personal with them soon enough when it’s trim time and will be better acquainted with each and will better be able to identify what I’m getting off of which plant.
I just finished the one gorilla cookies plant and it certainly follows suit with everything I mentioned above, the nose on it is spectacular and I CANT wait to dive in and start to enjoy them. It yielded one full jar which I have not weighed yet- I originally intended on weighing the end yield as a data point to note but I think due to the fact that I (and I can’t stress enough that it was MY mistake) stunted them in the beginning, that final weight wouldn’t be indicative of what one could and should expect from these genetics. Which is why I am opting to not dive too much into all that.
Now that they have all been taken down, I just have my one lonely (but giant) rock candy cake plant waiting to finish up and then I will be taking everything down and setting up somewhere else which is exciting because I have lots of little tweaks that I intend on doing so I am eager to make those minor changes and see what we can do next run! One thing I will NOT be doing it using those little peat pellets (or if I do, I have to figure out the pouch situation, but hopefully I stick to my guns and just go with another germination method)
Anyways, I hope you are all well and that you’re gardens are booming with beautiful sticky buds and I will see you after we get these all trimmed up (once they’re done with the hang dry that is!) grower love everybody!!! 💚🤙🌱
